K1-1667 - Meins!

Diese Möwen-Karte hab ich vergangenes Wochenende gemacht.

In der "Create A Smile - Friends and family" Facebook Gruppe gab es zum ersten Mal eine Rudel-Inspiration! Aufgabenstellung war es, eine in der Gruppe gepostete Karte als Inspirationsquelle zu nehmen und (wenn möglich) mit dem Stempelset Möwen-Gang neu zu gestalten.

War gar nicht so einfach! Es gibt da so viele tolle Karten zu sehen!
Ich habe schließlich eine süße Bienen-Karte von Angelique de Groot verwendet (in der Gruppe am 23.07.2023 gepostet).
Mir gefällt bei ihrer Karte unter anderem der Aufbau. Ein Layer dunkleres Papier mit distresstem Rand im Hintergrund und dazu unterschiedlich hoch gewachsenen Blümchen....
Ich hab das Layout um 90° gedreht, anstelle der Blumen Fische gestempelt und anstelle des gestencilten Hintergrunds ganz oft den Möwen-Spruch "Meins!" verwendet. Farbigkeit kommt bei mir durch die Regenbogen-Fische ins Spiel...

Last week I made this gull-card.

There was an inspitational Challenge in the Facebook Group "Create A Smile - Friends and family" for the very  first time.
We were asked to use a card posted in the group and case it. If possible we should use the Create a Smile stamp set "Gull Gang" in our creation.

Wasn't that easy! Too many great cards to choose from!
I found a sweet bee card from Angelique de Groot (posted in the group on 23.07.2023).
Among other things I like the layout of her card. One layer darker paper with distressed edges in the background and several flowerd with different height...
I turned the Layout 90°, changed the flowers into little fishes and the stenciled background pattern into the word "Meins!" = "Mine!". The row of fish brings some colors on the card.

Heute ist es an der Zeit, mich an der CASE myself Aktion auf den Uniko Blog zu beteiligen!
Einziger Unterschied - bei der Aktion haben bisher nur ehemalige Team-Mitglieder anlässlich unseres 10-jährigen Jubiläums teilgenommen.
Ich bin aber noch aktiv! In den kommenden Tagen seht ihr, was ich damit meine... denn die Februar Release rückt immer näher! 😀

Bev veröffentlichte ihre ersten Stencils im Herbst 2017.
Ich war so stolz, als Bev mich fragte, ob ich einem kleinen Team beitreten möchte, das den Fokus auf Stencils hat! Klar wollte ich!
Im Laufe der Jahre hatte ich schon einige Gast-Designer Beiträge, war aber noch nie permanentes Mitglied in einem Team gewesen!
Am 17. February 2018 stellte Bev das neue Stencil Design Team auf dem Uniko Blog - Sarah Gray, Julie Beech, Linda Walmsley und ich.

Doch vorerst geht's nochmal zurück zur CASE myself Aktion!
Gibt es etwas, was näher liegt, als meinen allerersten Beitrag als frisch gebackenes Stencil Design Team-Mitglied als Vorlage zu nehmen? Ich denke nicht!

Today it's on me to join into the fun of the CASE myself event on the Uniko Blog!
There's a difference to the other participating crafters - they are all Alumni Team Members who just came back to celebrate the 10th Birthday of Uniko with Bev, the team and all customers...
But I am still an active member! During the next days you will see what I'm talking about... the February Release is coming closer - just a few days left until the Sneak Peek and Introducing Days will start! 😀

Beverley released her very first stencil designs in autumn 2017.
I was so honoured when Bev asked me to join a small team with a focus on stencils! Sure I wanted!
During the years I had some Guest Designer postings, but wasn't a permanent member of any team before!
On February, 17th 2018 Bev introduced our new Stencil Design Team on the Uniko Blog

Trick-Kiste / Bag of Tricks - #2 Casing Cards or Designers

 

Jeder von uns hat seine kleinen Kniffe, wie man mit Widrigkeiten beim Baseln umgeht. Einige dieser Kniffe kennt man schon ewig, andere hat man selbst "erfundenn" und wieder andere irgendwo entdeckt und übernommen.
In dieser kleinen(?) Serie möche ich euch Einblick in meine "Trick-Kiste" geben.
Einige der Tipps sind sicher eher nur für Bastel-Neulinge neu, aber ich hoffe doch, dass auch die "alten Hasen" das eine oder andere Brauchbare finden...
Everybody of us has her own tricks and dodges to manage difficult situations or adversities in a crafter's life. Some of them you know nealy our whole life, some of them you solved in your own way and others you saw somewhere and fell in love with.
With this little(?) series I wanna let you peek into my bag of tricks.
Some of the hints are for sure only news for crafting-newbies, but I hope there will be some interesting stuff for the "old hands" too.

Trick-Kiste / Bag of Tricks - #2

Die Karten anderer als direkte Inspiration zu nehmen, zu "casen" (auszukundschaften) war längere Zeit nicht gerade einfach für mich. Ich hatte oft das ungute Gefühl, ich würde die Karte von jemand anderem kopieren - und das wollte ich nicht! 
(Ich mach das nicht mal bei einer "Online Card Class", dass ich eine Karte nahezu gleich nachzubastle, um die verwendeten Techniken zu lernen und zu üben!)
Aber jetzt hab ich für mich einen Weg gefunden, wie ich mit dieser Art Challenges umgehe!
Zuerst analysiere die gezeigte Karte und "reduziere" sie auf die sichtbaren Elemente wie ...
To case the card of someone else was long time not easy for me. I always was a bit afraid of the feeling to copy the other one - and I don't want to copy!
(I never do this, not even in an "Online Card Class" to learn the shown techniques!)
But now I found a way to work with this kind of challenges!
First I analyze the shown card and "reduce" it to the used elements like ...

• Layout / Skizze / Entwurf  -  layout / sketch
• geometrische Formen  -  geometrical shapes
• Farb-Kombinationen  -  color-combination(s)
• Techniken / Material  -  techniques / materials
• Thema  -  theme 
• Produkte einer bestimmten Firma  -  products of one brand
• Verzierungen  -  embellishments
• ...

Anschließend kann ich dann Schlüsselbegriffe definieren und aus diesen meine eigene Challenge-Kombination mixen. Je mehr Elemente ich so verwende, wie sie auch in der Karte, die es zu casen gilt, verwendet wurden, desto mehr können sich beide ähneln. Ich kann auch bewusst ein oder mehrere der Elemente komplett umkehren (sie sind aber trotzdem immer noch von der gezeigten Karte inspiriert!) und etwas völlig anderes gestalten.

Jetzt ist meine Idee für eine Karte keine Kopie der anderen mehr, sondern meine eigene Kreation!

Then I'm able to specify key-words to create my own challenge-themes-combination. The more elements I used in the same way, the more it may look like the inspirational card. I also may turn one or more of these elements "upside-down" (they are still inspired by the shown card!) to create something totally different.

Now my idea of a card isn't a copy of the other one any longer, it'S my creation!
