Manchmal trudelt ein Material hier bei mir ein, das regelrecht danach schreit, verbastelt zu werden!
Ich bewahre sie bis zur Verwendung in einer (inzwischen mal wieder viel zu vollen) kleinen Kiste auf... Wehe, einer kommt auf die Idee, davon etwas weg werfen zu wollen! Das sind alles Stücke mit einer kleinen Geschichte!

Oft sind es besondere Papiere oder Folien mit tollen Mustern oder Strukturen oder auch mal, wie in diesem Fall, ein einfaches Stück WashiTape!
Diese Materialien ergeben tolle Brennpunkte, da man sie oft nur in kleiner Menge zur Verfügung hat und daher sehr gezielt verwendet!

Ich liebe es, Karten um ein besonderes Stück, Thema oder Bild (auch gestempelte) herum zu basteln!
Bin nur ich so ein Nerd oder geht's euch genauso?

K1-1159 - The special WashiTape

Sometimes a special material appears and it's yelling to be used!
I store them in a (in the meantime very good filled) little box... 
Woe betide the one who asks me to throw something out of this box away! These are all pieces with a little individual story behind the scene!

Often it's a special piece of paper or foil with a beautiful pattern or texture or, like in this case, a simple piece of WashiTape!
These materials are amazing focal points cause you often have only scraps or a small amount of them and so you use them advisedly! 

I love this - to create a card around a special piece, theme or picture (also stamped ones stamped)!
Hope I'm not the only nerd! Are you the same?

I created and coloured three Daffodil pictures almost one year ago... two of them I used for cards immediatelly after, the third one had to wait a really long time in my "half-finished stuff"-box with all the created background papers, coloured images and many more great items! 

But now it's springtime again and this beautiful flower finally found its home on a card!

Heute hab ich auf Instagram gleich mehrere Karten gezeigt, die in ihren Grundelementen zwar gleich sind, die aber doch am Ende sehr unterschiedlich geworden sind!
Dieses "Projekt" hat Christine Drogt von "Create A Smile" auf ihrem YouTube Kanal initiiert, als sie in ihrer #PapierPlapperei bei "H" wie Hintergrund dazu aufgefordert hat, mitzumachen!

Today I posted on Instagram several cards made of the same basically elements. But all four turned out very different from each other!

This "project" was initiated by Christine Drogt from "Create A Smile" on her YouTube Channel, where she is running a (sorry, this time only German) series called #PapierPlapperei (Translation: PaperBabbling) and she makes postings in alphabetical order to paper-crafting themes. This one was "H" wie Hintergrund (Tarnslation: backgrounds).

K1-1348 - embossed daffodil -II- / Uniko Brand Ambassador Post

Like I mentioned in first post of today, I was inspired from

Jennifer McGuire who showed this technique on the first day of the current Online Card Class "Spring Card Camp".

This is an extra long class - started Saturday, April 11th and last until Thursday, April 30th, Wrap-Up day is Thursday, May 7th. 
On every one of the 20 days you get one video with intructions and tips to create two (different) cards in almost one working process.

The second card is made with an invers impression of the embossing panel.

I softly added some Distress Oxide inks with a blending tool. The colours outside of the expressed lines makes such a soft colour effect!

This card is very simple and a bit plain right now. When I know who will get it, I think I will add a banner or rectangle layer with the sentiment in the bottom third of the flower layer.

Probably with the Simply Said Blocks from Uniko in the colours of one of the two Oxide Ink colours I used for the flower.

When you use an embossing powder what doesn't "want" to layer thick enough - don't give up! Use this first try, colour it as usual and make a card out of it.

And then make a second try of the layering with another embossing powder (and maybe another brand of paper).

My first one was clear powder from Ranger - and it stayed flat. Why? I still don't know!

The second try was with a white powder from efco (one of my oldest powders in the box) on a different paper. And this turned out great!

I will use it some more times to get impressions and then I will use it as "normal" embossed image on a card - so nothing is wasted! :-)
