Regenbögen sind wunderbar!
Der Englische Text "just trying to find some colour in this black and white world" bedeutet "Ich versuche nur, etwas Farbe in dieser schwarz-weißen Welt zu finden".
Die Farben sind sowohl in dem Mädchen, als auch in seiner Umgebung.

Genau so, wie im Leben!
Jeder von uns trägt die Farben (oder auch Eigenschaften) in sich, um die Welt schöner zu machen.
Und um uns herum gibt es überall schöne Dinge - man muss sie nur wahrnehmen (was zugegebenermaßen nicht immer ganz leicht ist!).

I produced the meaning of the seniment in two different places of the picture - inside the girl and also in the sourrounding area.

Like the real life!
Everybody of us has the colours (or the features) inside to make the world a better place.
And everywhere around us there are beautiful things - you just have to perceive them (which admittedly isn't always easy!).

Den Hintergrund für diese Karte hab ich mit Ink-Smooshing gestaltet. Laura Bassen zeigte am Tag-4 mehrere verschiedene Arten, mit dieser Technik Farbe aufs Papier zu bringen.

Über die Karte:

Hier hab ich das Ink-Smooshing direkt auf meiner Arbeits-Unterlage gemacht. Tinte + Wasser + Papier.
Nach dem Trocknen einen "Farbkreis" zugeschnitten, dazu einen kleineren Kreis aus Vellum.  Auf demhab ich dann das in sehr zarten Farben colorierte Gorjuss-Mädel platziert hab. Bbei meiner Farb-Wahl spielte die englische Bedeutung der Farbe Blau - "feeeling blue" = "traurig sein" mit rein... Hab mich dann aber doch für einen deutschen Text-Stempel entschieden... passt daher also nicht mehr ganz perfekt, ist aber vielleicht doch eine nette Zusatzinformation für euch. - Perfekt für eine Aufmunterungs-Karte geeignet (und auch für den bunten Smooshing-Hintergrund), wie ich finde.
Ja, ich hab mich früher eine Zeit lang viel mit dem Thema "Farben und ihre Bedeutung in den verschiedenen Epochen und Kulturen" beschäftigt... War ziemlich interessant!

About this card:

I practiced the ink-smooshing direct on my craft-mat. Ink + water + paper.
After it was dry, I cut a "colorcircle" and an additional smaller one of Vellum. There I placed the colored Gorjuss-girl I've colored in tender colors. The choice of the colors was influenced from the meaning... In English feeling blue = feeling sad (in German "I feel blue" is for "I drunk alcohol"). Later I decided to use a German sentiment, so this color-choice is less important, but maybe good to know for you.- I think that's perfect for an encouragement-card (and also for the busy smooshing-background)
Yes, years back I was really interested in the theme "Colors and their meaning in different ages and cultures"... It was really interesting!

Auch hier nochmal eine "typische" Valentinskarte mit viel Herz und Liebe gemacht. Mir gefällt die Kombination des englischen Wortes "heartfelt" mit echtem Filz immer sehr gut. :-)

Ich mag die no-line coloring Technik sehr gerne, hab sie aber bisher nur selten selbst angewandt. Die Bilder haben dann meist ein ganz zartes Aussehen, ohne die meist üblichen dunklen Konturen der Stempelabdrücke!
Jetzt war es an der Zeit, mich mal wieder darin zu versuchen.

I love the look of the no-line coloring technique, but havn't practiced it myself really often yet. The images have such a soft touch without the usually dark stamped image-lines!
Now it was time to try it once more.

Translation of the titel "Ein Zettelchen für DICH" = "a little note for YOU".

Doch bevor ich das Gorjuss-Mädchen gestempelt habe, wurde zuerst noch der Hintergrund vorbereitet:
Dafür hab ich den negativen Teil meines gestanzten Papiers als Stencil verwendet und mit Distress Inks in 'antique linen' und 'scattered straw' das imaginäre Stück Papier per Wischtechnik gestaltet.

Zum Stempeln des Bildes habe ich Distress Ink in 'scattered straw' verwendet und es anschließend mit Aquarell-Buntstiften und etwas Wasser coloriert.

Before I stamped the Gorjuss Girl I prepared the background: Therefor I used the negative part of my paper die-cut as a stencil and blended with DistressInks in 'antique linen' and 'scattered straw' a fictive piece of paper.

To stamp my image I used Distress-Ink 'scattered straw' and then colored with watercolor-pencils and a little bit of water.

Es war die letzten Tage leider etwas ruhig hier auf dem Blog... das Leben außerhalb hat mich mal wieder etwas mehr beansprucht und mein Zeit-Budget verlangte nach drasstischen Einschränkungen :-/

Ideen zur Karte:

Der Verschluss dieser doppelt gefalzten Karte ist die Filz-Wolke. 

Sie kann von links nach rechts unter die Sonne geschoben werden, wenn die Karte geschlossen ist. 

Beide Teile, Sonne und Wolke, bilden ein selbst-gestaltetes Verschluss-System.

Wenn ihr an mehr Informationen darüber interessiert seid, lasst es mich wissen, dann poste ich dazu nochmal mehr Details.

Ideas behind the card:

To lock the card you can move the felt-cloud from the left side to the right, beneath the sun. Both parts, sun and cloud, are a  self-created locking-system.
