It's a lucky charm. 

An old Japanese legend tells, a person who fold one thousend cranes will get a free wish from the gods.

I sometimes fold Origami figures... we'll see, when I will reach the required number....

Karten für Kindergeburtstage sind ja oft recht leicht zu gestalten: bunt und fröhlich sind die Haupt-Zutaten, dazu vielleicht noch etwas mit Bewegung und der Empfänger ist glücklich!

Bei Karten für Kleinkinder wird's da schon schwieriger... Keine Kleinteile, die abfallen könnten (Gefahr von Verschlucken). Nichts, was zu leicht zerpflückt werden kann. ...

Cards for kids are easy: colorful and funny are the most important ingredients. Some kind of movement or action and the recipient is happy!

Cards for toddlers are a bit more difficult... No small pieces which could fall off (choking hazard). Nothing delicate that could be damaged to easy. ...

Daher hab ich meine Geburtstagskarte für den gerade zwei Jahre alt gewordenen Jannis "flach" gehalten, ohne weitere Verzierungen.

Der Hintergrund besteht aus buntem Splatter-"Konfetti".

Die Waldtier-Freunde sind mit Copics koloriert und dann von Hand ausgeschnitten und flächig aufgeklebt (ohne 3D pads).

Ein blaues Papier rahmt den bunt gestalteten Vordergrund gegen die weiße Kartenbasis.

So I made a flat birthday card for Jannis who turned two last week, without any embellishments.

The background is made with colorful splatter-confetti.

The forest animal friends are coloured with Copics then fussycut out and adheres flat (without dimensional pads).

A blue paper frames the colourful layer against the white cardbase.

Ich mag meine Idee der Karten mit eingebautem Geschenkkarten-Halter im Inneren immer noch. Daher hab ich gleich noch eine gemacht!
Wenn ihr mehr davon sehen wollt: Klamotten-Shoppen & Multimedia Geschenkkarten.
Diesmal ist sie neutraler gehalten und daher für jede Art von ShoppingCard gut geeignet.

This time it's a more neutral design so you can use it for any kind of shopping card.

Translation of the German sentiments "für dich" = "for you" & "Alles Gute" = "All the best" or "Best wishes".

Über die Karte:
Ich hab hier mit einer Emboss-Resist-Technik gearbeitet. Erst den Text und die Sterne in zwei Schritten (da zwei unterschiedliche Embossing-Pulver Farben) heat embosst und anschließend mit dem Blending Tool die Distress-Oxide Inks aufgetragen.
Man könnte auch erst blenden und dann embossen, aber bei hellen Embossing-Farben kann da dann der dunklere Hintergrund durchscheinen und die Farben wären nicht mehr so schön sauber und satt!

About this card:
Here I worked with an emboss resist technique. First I heat embossed the sentiment and the stars in two steps (cause I used two different colors of smbossing powder) and then I blended the background with Distress Oxide Inks.
You can also first blend and then emboss, but when you use light embossing powder colours a darker background might peek through and then the colours wouldn't lock as clean and saturated as now!

Ich habe eine Karte mit der Farb-Vorgabe von C.A.S. gewerkelt.
Leider musste ich bei den Papieren etwas improvisieren, da ich die gefragten Farben nicht vorrätig hatte - aber ich denke, meine Auswahl ist ziemlich nah dran, oder? (Hab mit den farb-richtigen Markern das Papier noch etwas nachgfärbt.)

Right now, we have lots of red admirals in our garden, so butterflies are typical summer-animals for me.

I used the colours of the Photo - bright pinks and violetts with water colours to get the pale little butterflies and the more intense bigger one in the same colour-tones.

Gestern hat die neue Online Card Class "Background Check" angefangen (sie endet am Freitag 08-07). Wie ihr ja wisst, kann man immer noch einsteigen - jetzt (um aktiv in den Gallerien und Foren teilzunehmen) oder auch später (dann jedoch nur noch zum Lernen, Lesen und Anschauen).

Yesterday the new Online Card Class "Background Check" started (it will last until Friday, 08-07). There is still time to check in - now (for active participation in the galleries and forums) or later (just to learn, read and watch).


Ich denke in den kommenden Tagen werden ich mehr Bilder von den Entstehungs-Prozessen zeigen, denn schließlich stehen jetzt die Hintergründe im Vordergrund, oder?

To finish the card I cut the wave-paper and added some colorful Origami-Fishes, some glossy bubbles and the handwritten sentiment.

The use of the Baby wipes has brought only a little effect on the watercolor paper, so I sprayed water onto the paper and patted the (now colored) water immediatelly away with a paper towel.

Es ist endlich Frühling!

Passend dazu ist das Thema der aktuellen Stempelküchen-Challenge "Floral" - und wo, wenn nicht draußen, kann man sich am besten inspirieren lassen?! Draußen ist bei mir oft mein/unser Garten. Da gibt's ja viel zu entdecken, gerade jetzt, wenn alles anfängt zu wachsen...
Die Blüten dieses Apfelbaums finde ich besonders hübsch (unser anderer Apfelbaum hat nur weiße Blüten, ohne die rosafarbene Schattierung).

The flowers of this apple-tree are so beautiful (our other apple tree has only white flowers without the pink shade).
