K1-1119 - Origami für Dich

Vor kurzem hatte ich bereits eine Karte mit Origami-Kranichen hier gezeigt.
Ich hatte viele Kraniche in verschiedenen Farben gefaltet und dann mehrere Karten angefertigt - auch diese hier.

Die Farben der Kraniche werden nach oben hin intensiver. Die kleinen Glücksbringer kommen von "weit her" (ganz blass) und erreichen im richtigen Moment, wenn sie am intensivsten gefärbt sind, den Glückwunsch-Text.

Recently I showed a card with origami cranes here.
I made many cranes in different colors and was able to craft several cards - also this one.

The colors of the cranes get more intense to the top. The little lucky charms come from "far away" (light shade) and reach the sentiment "für Dich" = "for you" in the right moment, when they have the most intense color.

I made a monochromatic card.
It's almost a one layer card, but it has a little sentiment banner, adhered with thin 3D pads.
The main patterned area I masked off and then coloured with Oxide Inks through the "Doodle Flower" Stencil.
Then I stamped some extra hearts from the "Always & Forever" set and embellished them with a gold metallic pencil so the colour fitting Washitape with the golden arrows is integrated perfectly in the design.
The little sentiment strip is made with the same colours like the flowers nad stamped with stamps from two sets - "Always & Forever" again and "Reach for the Stars".

First I stamped the sailing boat and masked off the top area of my cardbase and the hull.

For this card I tried a new way to create the deep wavy ocean - I used a stencil, added the lightest colour and then moved it until I added the next (darker) ink.
But I not only repeated to colour the same area of the stencil, I then turned it upside down and did the same process again with all three colours and the same area.

I think, it's a way to get some curved wavy lines on your paper although you havn't a "classic" ocean-stencil on hand.
What do you think about this try?

I used my "Anchor" Stencil and added (only one!) anchor on the bottom of the card with VersaMark Ink. Heat embossed it two times with red embossing powder.

To finish the card I stamped the sentiment in silver ink and added a hand-drawn anchor chain to connect boat and anchor.

K1-1064 - aus dem Hut gezaubert

Eigentlich war mal wieder alles anders geplant... Wer es nicht schon kennt - Willkommen in meinem chaotischen Leben! ;-) 
Diese Karte hab ich eignetlich für meinen GastDesigner-Beitrag für die aktuelle Challenge bei Create A Smile gemacht. (Zur Erinnerung: ich wurde mit dieser Leuchtturm / Lighthouse Karte als Featured Artist nominiert und erhielt damit die tolle Gelegenheit, GD zu sein.)

Doch dann hat mich vergangene Woche ein fieser Virus erwischt und mich für fast 10 Tage komplett ausgeknipst! Die Karte war zwar fertig, aber ich hatte sie noch nicht eingeschickt und so hab ich die Deadline leider verpasst... 😕

Aber die Mädels von Create A Smile sind super und ich habe einen GD-Platz angeboten bekommen! Bald! Danke! Ihr dürft also gespannt bleiben, denn seid euch sicher, ich werd mich dann als extra-Dankeschön mächtig ins Zeug legen und was schönes für euch zaubern! 😉

I actually made this card for my GuestDesigner Spot in the current Create A Smile Challenge. (A quick reminder: I was nominated as Featured Artist with this Leuchtturm / Lighthouse card and got the great opportunity to be GD). 

Then I got caught by a nasty virus which knocked me out completly for about 10 days! The card was finished but not send to the coordinator yet and so I missed the deadline... 😕

Virginia Lu started a new project on her Blog to spread creativity and happiness!

Für die "Use those sequins!" Challenge von CAS-ual Friday hab ich mal wieder meine komplette Sammlung an Pailletten durchgesehen und hab auch diese "hölzernen" in die Finger bekommen. Was passt gut zu kleinen Holzschnipseln? Richtig! Biber! 
Da bei Create A Smile zum einen auf dem Blog eine "shaped card" und zum anderen auf ihrer "Facebook Friends and Family" Seite eine "cute critters" Challenge laufen, passte das alles irgendwie ziemlich gut zusammen!

For the "Use those sequins!" challenge of CAS-uas Friday I took a look in my sequins collection and got my hands on some "wooden" ones. What fits perfect to little wooden scraps? right! Beavers!
Create A Smile has two challenges: one on their blog, that's right now "shaped cards" and another one on their "Facebook Friends and Family" page with "cute critters". Great combination!

The translation of the German titel "fleißiger Biber" = "hard working (or just busy) beaver" and of the sentiment "Überraschung für dich" = "surprise for you".

Über die Karte:
Die Rundung des Baumstamms hab ich grob vorgezeichnet und dann von Hand zugeschnitten - dabei darauf geachtet, dass eine raue Rinden-Optik entsteht. Die beiden Biber und den inneren Baumstumpf hab ich gestempelt und maskiert.
Da ich keinen so großen Baumstamm-Stempel besitze, hab ich die Holzmaserung frei-hand mit Buntstiften eingezeichnet. Um diesem "rauen" Stil treu zu bleiben, hab ich auch den inneren Baumstamm und die Biber mit den Stiften koloriert.
Der Schriftzug "Überraschung für dich" und die Blättchen sind mit Embossingpulver gestaltet.
Als Verzierungen bekamen die Nasen und Augen der Biber noch etwas Enamel Accents in schwarz ab und die Pailletten in Holzoptik wurden locker auf der Karte verteilt aufgeklebt.
Im Innere der Karte kam noch ein kleiner Igel angelaufen....

About this card:
I simply draft the rounded shape of the big trunk and fussycut it out - with an eye on the optic of a rough cortex. I stamped the beavers and the imaller trunk and masked them.
I havn't such a big round woodgrain stamp in my stash, so I decided to draw the lines free handed. I used wooden pencild for this job, cause they give a bit of a rough style which I also used on the smaller trunk and on the beavers.
The sentiment and also the little leaves I created with embossing powder. As embellishments I used Enamel Accents fot the beavers eyes and noses and the sequins with wood-pattern which I spread and adhered all over the trunk.
A little hedgehook walked into the inside of the card....

Ich mag meine Idee der Karten mit eingebautem Geschenkkarten-Halter im Inneren immer noch. Daher hab ich gleich noch eine gemacht!

Diesmal ist sie neutraler gehalten und daher für jede Art von ShoppingCard gut geeignet.

Über die Karte:
Ich hab hier mit einer Emboss-Resist-Technik gearbeitet. Erst den Text und die Sterne in zwei Schritten (da zwei unterschiedliche Embossing-Pulver Farben) heat embosst und anschließend mit dem Blending Tool die Distress-Oxide Inks aufgetragen.
Man könnte auch erst blenden und dann embossen, aber bei hellen Embossing-Farben kann da dann der dunklere Hintergrund durchscheinen und die Farben wären nicht mehr so schön sauber und satt!

About this card:
Here I worked with an emboss resist technique. First I heat embossed the sentiment and the stars in two steps (cause I used two different colors of smbossing powder) and then I blended the background with Distress Oxide Inks.
You can also first blend and then emboss, but when you use light embossing powder colours a darker background might peek through and then the colours wouldn't lock as clean and saturated as now!

Aufräumen gehört nicht unbedingt zu meinen Lieblingsbeschäftigungen... aber andererseits genieße ich es immer, wenn dann mal wieder Ordnung herrscht! - In unserem Haus mit vier Kindern ein eher seltener Zustand...
Für mein Bastelzimmer hab ich mir daher angewöhnt, nach dem Basteln immer so weit wie möglich wieder alles weg zu packen... Wenn ich jedoch mal mehrere Bilder auf einen Rutsch coloriere oder Hintergrund-Papiere embosse, kommen diese halb-fertigen Sachen in eine kleine Kiste auf meinen Schreibtisch - immer griffbereit. Aber so oft greift man dann eben doch nicht zu, sondern füllt eher immer noch mehr rein.... 
Daher nehm ich mir die Kiste immer mal wieder bewusst zur Hand und schau, welche der enthaltenen Schätzchen ich nun endlich mal verarbeiten will. An solchen Tagen entstehen dann recht fix mehrere Karten (da ja ein Großteil der Arbeit schon erledigt war).

Cleaning up isn't my favorite activity... but I love when everything is tidy! - A rare situation in our house with four kids...
In my craftroom I try to clean up my desk after every crafting-session an put everything back to its place... But when I've colored several pics or embossed background-papers I put these half-done things in a small box on my crafttable always - near to use them.But I don't grab this stuff automatically...
So I take this box frequently and decide, which of these little trasures I want to use now. These days are very productive (cause a big part of the work was done before) and I can finish several cards.

Über die Karte:

Bei dieser ersten Karte hatte ich die Blüte auf Kraftpapier bereits in unserem letzten Urlaub erst weiß gestempelt und dann mit Buntstiften coloriert. Dazugekommen ist nun noch ein weiß embosster Gruß und zwei schmale Streifen WashiTape als Rahmen (ohne den sah die Blüte doch etwas sehr verloren aus...).  

Bei der Stempelküchen Challenge ist das Thema aktuell "CAS extrem". Ab wann kann man es extrem nennen?
Meine "CAS-Elemente" bei dieser Karte sind: 

• One-Layer (→ nur Kartenbasis) 
• viel freie Fläche ohne Muster
• gar keine oder wenn, dann nur sehr wenig & schlichte Verzierungen (→ WashiTape).

Ob man das noch viel weiter reduzieren kann, ohne dann eine praktisch leere Karte zu haben, weiß ich nicht so genau. ;-)

About this card:

The Flower for this first cardI made in our last vacation. I stamped it with white ink on Kraftpaper and coloured the flower with crayons / colored pencils. Now I've added only the white heat embossed sentiment and two small stripes of WashiTape to frame the card (without this, the flower seemed lost ...).

The Stempelküchen-Challenge hat the current theme "CAS extrem". When you can call it extreme?
My "CAS-elements" on this cards are: 

• One-Layer (→ only cardbase)
• lots of empty space
• no or only a minimum of plain embellishments (→ WashiTape).

I'm not sure if you can reduce it to less without getting an empty card. ;-)

Über die Karte:

Eine weitere Karte zu der mich Kristina Werners Video am OCC-Tag-1 inspiriert hat.
Bei meiner ersten Karte mit "Heat & Stick Pulver" und Glitter hab ich festgestellt, dass auch feiner Glitter leider immer noch ein wenig "abbröselt" (was ich persönlich nicht ganz so gerne mag). Daher hab ich mich in meinem Bastelzimmer auf die Suche nach noch feineren, glitzernden oder schimmernden Substanzen gemacht und bin bei einem Lidschatten gelandet, den ich vor längerer Zeit mal fürs Kinderschminken gekauft hatte... Also: ran an den Test!
Es klappt - und zwar ziemlich gut wie ich finde! :-)
Auf den Bildern sieht man den feinen Schimmer leider nicht so gut - trotz mehrerer Versuche hab ich das leider nicht so hinbekommen, dass es aussieht wie in real.

About this card:

Another cards which was inspired by the OCC-Day-1 video from Kristina Werner. 
While I made my first card with "Heat & Stick powder" and glitter I recognized the some fall-off particles even when I used fine glitter (that's something I don't really like with glitter). So I was searching in my craftroom for superfine substances with shimmer and found the eyeshadow I bought once as kids-make-up... Let's try it!
I works - pretty well in my opinion! :-)
The delicate shimmer isn't really visible on the pics - although I tried several time to catch it with the camera - no way to get it like in realiy!
