Mandalas haben eine ganz besondere Wirkung!
Ich habe hier die Farben Gelb und Orange verwendet und sie mit der Smooshing Technik auf das zuvor heiß embosste Mandala aufgetragen.
Mit einigen funkelnden Kristallen und herzförmigen Verzierungen wird das runde Schmuckstück dem Kartentext gerecht.

"Friends mean the world to me" = "Freunde bedeuten mir die Welt".

Mandalas have a special meaning!
I used the colours yellow and orange and brought them on top of the white embossed mandala with the smooshing technique.
Some sparkling rhinestones and heartshaped embellishments finish this round piece of jewellery and make it fitting to the sentiment.

Ein passendes, eigenes Inspirations-Bild für die AAA Cards Challenge #85 zu finden, war gar nicht so einfach, wie ich zuerst dachte.

Übersetzung (sorry, ist ein klein wenig holperig geworden):
"Für unsere neue Challenge haben wir ein echtes Vergnügungs-Thema - wir wollen eine Karte sehen, die von der Mode einer Oskar-Preisverleihung inspiriert wurde. Egal ob männliche oder weibliche Mode, egal, aus welchem Jahr."

In meiner ersten Suche hab ich so viele elegante und eindrucksvolle Kleider gesehen, aber keines inspirierte mich richtig für eine Karte und brachte mich dazu, sofort zum Basteltisch zu flitzen und loszubasteln.
Dann habe ich meinen Blickwinkel etwas geändert und bei einer zweiten Suche war es da: das Kleid, das mich angesprochen hat!

To find an inspirational picture for the AAA Cards Challenge #85 wasn't as easy as I thought in the first moment.

"We have a really fun theme for our new challenge - we'd like to see a card inspired by the fashions on the Oscar red carpet. This could be male or female and from any year."

In my first search I found so many elegant and amazing dresses, but no one inspired me enough for a card and made me running to my craft table and start creating immediatelly.
Then I changed my focus of view and started a second search and there it was: the dress which talked to me!


Vor einigen Wochen haben ich mir Brusho Crystal Colours bestellt und ich hab dann gleich etwas mit ihnen herum-experimentiert. Einer der Versuche wardieser: den großen Mandala-Stempel von #CreateASmile auf Aquarellpapier embosst, dann einige der Farbpulver darüber gestäubt und mit etwas Wasser besprüht. Das ergab tolle Farbverläufe - ideal als Hintergrund-Papiere geeignet!

A few weeks ago I ordered Brusho Crystal Colours and started to play with them. One try was to emboss the big Mandala-Stamp from #CreateASmile on watercolor-paper, add different colour-powders and then spray some water over it. The colours spread around and made great backround-papers!


Jetzt habe ich eines dieser Papiere für die AAA Cards Challenge #85 verwendet. Als Orientierung habe ich ein Kleid von Kelly Washington von 2013 verwendet (siehe Bild weiter unten).

I used one of these papers now to create my card for the AAA Cards Challenge #85. My guideline was the dress from Kelly Washington from 2013 (see the picture below).

Über die Karte:

Diese Chipboard-Wörter sehen normalerweise fast wie Holz aus, dieses hier war auf dem farbigen Hintergrund praktisch kaum zu sehen. Daher beschloss ich, es mit einer Schicht weißem Embossing zu überziehen - es wirkt nun noch plastischer!
Sowohl für das Mandala als auch für den Glückwunschtext habe ich das selbe Pulver verwendet.

About this card:

These Chipboard words look like wood and it wasn't really visible on the colorful background. So I decided to cover it with a layer of white embossing - it's even more dimensional now!
The Mandala and also the sentiment on the banner were stamped and embossed with the same powder.

Es gibt einen Grund, warum ich ganz froh bin, dass bei uns das Wetter derzeit nicht ganz so sommerlich ist...! Ansonsten würde ich mit meinem Embossing-Fön und den vielen embossten Karten vermutlich ganz schön ins Schwitzen kommen! ;-)

Aber die "Online Card Classes - Heat WAVE" zeigt mal wieder einfach zu viele schöne Techniken und Tdeen - sie einfach nur zu sehen und nicht selbst aktiv zu werden, das geht einfach nicht!
 

There is one reason why I'm happy about the not very summerlike weather we currently have here...! I would melt while I work on all these embossed cards with the hot embossing-tool! ;-)

But the "Online Card Classes - Heat WAVE" shows too many great techniques and ideas - I can't resist and only watch the videos, I need to craft too!

Zuerst hab ich das Glas mit einer hellen Tinte gestempelt, dann die Glaswände mit stark verdünnten Farben coloriert und anschließend erst die Konturen nochmal gestempelt und embossed.
 
First I stamped the jar with a light ink-color, then colored the glass with heavily diluted colors and in the next step I stamped again and then embossed the contures.

Diese Karte habe ich mit den Gedanken an die HLS - Case the Designer Challenge #4 angefangen. (Die Inspirationskarte stammt diesmal von Joyce Mehrberg.)
Sie passt aber auch bei einigen anderen Challenge-Blogs perfekt...!

I started to make this card for the HLS - Case the Designer Challenge #4. (The inspirational card was made from Joyce Mehrberg.)
But there are some other challenge-blogs where it also fits perfectly...! :-)

The translation of the card-name is "Always a sunshine" (for all the "sunny-happy" people in our lifes.). 
On the card there is only the word "Sunshine".

Ideen zur Karte:
Der kleine Schirm leuchtet wie eine Sonne - trotz (oder gerade wegen?) der grauen Regenwand im Hintergrund. Als ich den grafischen Teil der Karte fertig hatte und noch am überlegen war, welcher Spruch nun dazu passen könnte, kam mir diese Idee:

Es gibt ja Menschen um uns herum, die fast immer mit einem Lächeln im Gesicht durch's Leben gehen. Diesen schier grenzenlosen Optimismus finde ich so toll und den wollte ich gerne hier darstellen. Daher passte das Chipboard-Wort Sonnenschein perfekt!
Ich habe es in den selben Farben wie den Schirm zweifarbig coloriert und ebenfalls mit einer Schicht Glossy Accents überzogen.

Danke an all euch Sonnenschein-Menschen - ihr seid toll!

Ideas behind the card:
This little umbrella is shining like a sun - in spite of (or due to?) the gray raindrops in the background. When I finished the graphic part of the card I was still not sure what kind of sentiment would fit here, but then this idea poped up:
There are people around us who have always a smile on their lips, right? I love this overboarding optimism and I decided to try to catch it here with this bunny. I took the chipboard word (it menas "sunshine"), colored it with the same two tones like the umbrella and also finished it with a layer of Glossy Accents.

K1-629 - embosste Vellum-Blüten

Draußen blühen ja nun schon jede Menge Pflänzchen. Besonders gerne mag ich in meinem Garten derzeit leuchtend gelbe Osterglocken, weiß-orangene Narzissen und kräftig gefärbte Tulpen. Krokusse sind leider dieses Jahr kaum welche gekommen... keine Ahnung, was mit denen passiert ist....
Jetzt ist also geklärt, woher die Inspiration für die farbstarke Karte kam!

Outside more and more flowers start to bloom. In my garden I have a special love for the bright-yellow Daffodils, the white and orange Narcissuses and the bright colored Tulips. There aren't many Crocuses this year, I have no idea what happened to them...
Now you know where I found my inspiration for this colorful card!

Ideen zur Karte:
Ursprünglich wollte ich sowohl die Blüten als auch die Blätter nur mit Vellum, Embossingpulver und Markern gestalten.  
Bei den Blättern gefällt mir, dass die hellgrüne Embossingpaste durchschimmert - bei den Blüten fand ich das nun nicht ganz so ideal... Daher hab ich die beiden Blüten noch auf einen weißen Cardstock geklebt.
Der optische Effekt des Vellums ist zum Glück teilweise erhalten geblieben, wenn auch die "Durchsichtigkeit" und damit auch die Leichtigkeit und Zartheit der Blüten etwas abhanden gekommen sind...

Ideas behind the card:

The idea was to make the leaves and the flowers only with vellum and embossing-powder and markers.

I love how the light-green embossing-paste is shown through the translucent leaves. - For the flowers this effect wasn't as beautiful as I thought in the first moment... So I decided to adhere them both onto a white piece of cardstock.

I'm happy, the optical effect of the vellum is still visible, although the "translucentce" and with this the lightness and the delicateness of the flowers isn't as strong as before.

K1-630 - best friends

Kürzlich hab ich in einem Anflug von Stencil-Fiber mal wieder einige Hintergründe mehr gestaltet, als ich zu dem Zeitpunkt gebraucht habe...
Ich find das ja ganz praktisch - so hab ich immer auch was "selbst-gestaltetes" zur Verfügung, wenn mal keine Zeit (oder Lust) für aufwändigere Schmuddeleien ist (wie in diesem Fall: Reinigen der Stencil und Trocknen der Embossing-Paste) .
Einen dieser Hintergründe hab ich mit mehrfarbigem Glitzerkleber hergestellt. Er ist aber eher dezent bunt geworden und ich finde, er passt perfekt zu der heutigen Karte (oder doch die Karte zum Hintergrund?).

Recently I made once more several background-papers in an attack of stencil-fever...
I think that's a good thing - so I've always some self-made papers here when I need one and maybe have no time (or desire) to make a new one (you know, stenciling needs some time to dry and to clean up).
One of these backgrounds I created with multicolored glitter-glue. It is restrained and I think it fits perfect to the card of today (or does the card fit to the background?).

2016/01-08 - Shopping-Haul - Create A Smile Stamps

Bisher hab ich meine Einkäufe noch nie gepostet, aber ich finde die Idee, sie euch hier zu zeigen irgendwie gut.
Mich würde interessieren, was ihr davon auch schon habt.

Which stamps and dies, have you ordered too?

Kurz vor dem Jahreswechel hab ich bei Create a Smile noch Dies und Stempelsets von der letzen Release und dazu noch einge der älteren Sets gegönnt...
Sie haben diesmal (wegen der Feiertage?) zwar deutlich länger gebraucht, bis sie hier waren, als sonst, aber jetzt sind sie da! :-)
Morgen Nachmittag bekomme ich Besuch... vielleicht kommen wir trotz 5-6 anwesender Kinder ja doch auch ein Bisschen zum Basteln?!? - Die Hoffnung stirbt ja immer zuletzt! ;-)

Between Christmas and New Year I ordered dies and some stamp-sets from the new release of Create A Smile and also some of the older sets...
This time they needed an extremly long shipping-time (maybe due to the holidays?) but now they arrived! :-)
Tomorrow afternoon a friend will visit us... maybe we'll find some time to craft while 5 or 6 kiddos are running around in the house?!? - Hope dies last! ;-)

Ich hab schon einige Ideen, was sich mit diesen vielen schönen Sächelchen alles zaubern lässt... Mehr wird aber noch nicht verraten. Laßt euch überraschen! :-)
