K1-910 - Blow out the candles

I grabbed my "unfinished" box and took some half-finished cards out and finished them once more...
I don't know if you celebrate the same way we do. Here we put candles on a bithday cake, enlight them and the bithday child (any age!) blows them out all at once  and makes a secret wish.
I used this tradition as inspiration for my card.

On the front of the card are six rainbow-coloured candles with a flame and a halo (made with Vellum). It's hard to see in the pictures, but the front-paper is dry embossed with a stencil - the impression is not as deep as the one of an EmbossingFolder.
You can read the word "blow..." there.

On the Inside of the card there are the same candles, but they lost their flames. I imitated the candle smoke with some sparkling white Embossing Powder.
The words "Make a Wish" finished the page.

This is an easy to create card!

  • I stamped and coloured the mermaid and the shell, then fussycut both images out.
  • The sentiment is heat-embossed directly on the cardbase. The little shoals of fish were stamped in black ink on the cardbase too.
  • The fishtail-pattern on the bottom of the card is a strip of WashiTape.
  • The images and some dimensional glitter hearts were adhered on the base.
  • The Mermaid and the shell decorated with liquid pearls.
My colouration was based on the colours of the fishtail WashiTape and the dimensional heart-sickers. So the "girl" got details in kind of teal / turquoise.
For her hair and skin I've choosen not human-colours, she has more greenisch tones to get a deep-sea-optic.

K1-1172 - Sei wild / Uniko-Release (III)

This card is part of a "set", it means I made two background-papers with one step of "work". For the first card I inked a paper through a stencil and then re-used the stencil for this card here.

The tiger-pattern in the background is still "wrong", cause usually the stripes should be black. I skipped the colouring, but I traced all the edges of the stencil with a thin black marker.
The tiger-panel is directly mounted on a slightly bigger piece of black cardstock and this on my cardbase.

K1-1172 - Sei wild
On the front I only stamped the word "wild" this time (perfect, cause it's the same in English and in German). It's coloured with black markers and covered with a layer of Glossy Accents.

For the inside I've choosen a German sentiment stamp.
Translation of "sei frech und wild und wunderbar" = "be cheeky and wild and marvellous".
A paw print and two black stripes on the upper and lower edges finished the card.

K1-1171 - Wild Tiger / Uniko-Release (II)

This card is part of a "set", it means I made two background-papers with one step of "work". In this case I inked my paper through a stencil and then used the stencil for another card I'll show today.

I know, the tiger-pattern in the background is "wrong", cause usually the cat is orange and the stripes are black. I just liked  it this way - with no other reason.

Reminds me of the "penguin-question" I wrote a while ago... Do you know it? Let me know in the comments! 😉

Wer von euch kennt die "Pinguin-Frage" schon, die ich vor einiger Zeit geschrieben habe? Lasst es mich in den Kommentaren wissen! 😉

K1-1171 - Wild Tiger

For quiet a while I use cosmetic Blending Brushes now. I found them in our drugstore a while before they got popular in the crafty world, offered by craft companies. But I hadn't bought them immediatelly.
Then I saw several videos on YT with comparisons between the craft and the cosmetic brushes and decided, the less expansive brushed would be ok for me for a first try.
I'm happy with them (but I have just worked with mine, not with the crafty brushes, maybe they are different?!)
I hadn't big problems with my blending tools before, but with the brushes it's so easy to get a completely soft blending with very soft colour if you want.

Today I layered more ink to get a more intense pattern on my "natural" sprinkled cardstock.
The little tiger is stamped with an old step stemping set from Artemio. It's a funny one, cause you can choose the outline of the cat, the inside and then there are three different patterns available in the set. I've choosen the tiger one - fitting to my background.

On my cardbase I placed two stripes of fabric tape and two stripes of black paper. The distance I measured out to frame the top and the bottom of my front-panel which is added with dimensional tape.

K1-1169 - Wild Days (zebra-look) / Uniko-Release (I)

Again I made three cards for today! The links to the other both cards are in the BlogHop-List below.

To show you the iridescent sparke of my Zebra-print background I made several pictures with bit different light and angles. But the pictures can't reach to the optic of the heat embossed colour!

K1-1169 - Wild Days (zebra-look)

I added VersaMark through the stencil onto a white cardstock, added the black magic Embossing powder and heat embossed it. I cut the embossed paper and a slightly bigger piece of black cardstock. The black one is adhered flat on my cardbase, the patterned paper with a thin 3D tape.

The sentiment I stamped on another piece of white cardstock. The "wild" is embossed like the background, the rest of the sentiment is simply stamped with black ink. I fussycut it out and adhered it also with thin 3D pads on the background.

I hadn't added more embellishments, cause I think, the sparkling works best without other distracting stuff for this card!

K1-1170 - Wild Day (giraffe-look) / Uniko-Intro (4-I)

I made a "fluffy" card with a giraffe patterned  background.
First I was a bit unhappy with the ink blending of the fur, but then my son came into the room told me it would be boring with a smooth blending, it's more natural this way. When someone can talk to you with so much persuasiveness like he can, you would also love to believe him! 😉
By now I like it as it is, cause it really looks like you've just pet the giraffe and muss up it's hair!

K1-1170 - Wild Day (giraffe-look) - angled

The sentiment was stamped with black ink, the bold one then coloured in darker brown and covered with a layer of Glossy Accents.
Ready - set - GO!
A quick card for almost every exciting occasion!
Perfect for mailing, cause it's flat and there is only one layer in addition to the cardbase.
