K1-1670 - relaxtes Faultier

Vor einer Woche gab es in der Facebook Gruppe "Create A Smile family & friends" eine neue Rudel-Challenge oder auch Papierplapperei-Challenge.
Die Aufgabenstellung war: andere Kartenform als DinA6 / DinLang, 1 Stencil, 1 Tierchen.

Ich hab in der Gruppe einen Mini-Stempeltausch (Karte gegen kleine Lavalampe) vereinbart und dachte mir dann, ist doch eine witzige Idee, wenn die große Lampe auf der Karte mit drauf ist, an einer Stelle, wo die kleine so viel besser passen würde. Da passte dann auch der Text "Irgendwas ist hier faul" perfekt dazu...
Gedacht, gemacht und verschickt! 
Hatte dann nur im Bezug auf die Challenge nicht dran gedacht, dass ich die Karte besser erst zeigen sollte, wenn sie auch zugestellt ist! 
Daher kommt sie nun erst etwas verspätet online.

One week ago we had a new creative-pride Challenge in the Facebook "Create A Smile family & friends" Group.
The keywoards were: another format than DinA6 / DinLang, 1 Stencil, 1 critter.

The occasion for the card was: I exchanged a gifted mini-lava lamp for a handmade card and wanted to send this one.  😉
I wanted to use the lazy sloth set and the sentiment on my card. 
"Irgendwas ist hier faul" = "Something is fishy (or lazy / or wrong) here". 
The lava lamp has the "wrong" size and the sloth is laying lazy on the sofa... perfect combination, isn't it?

K1-990 - fleißiger Biber

Für die "Use those sequins!" Challenge von CAS-ual Friday hab ich mal wieder meine komplette Sammlung an Pailletten durchgesehen und hab auch diese "hölzernen" in die Finger bekommen. Was passt gut zu kleinen Holzschnipseln? Richtig! Biber! 
Da bei Create A Smile zum einen auf dem Blog eine "shaped card" und zum anderen auf ihrer "Facebook Friends and Family" Seite eine "cute critters" Challenge laufen, passte das alles irgendwie ziemlich gut zusammen!

For the "Use those sequins!" challenge of CAS-uas Friday I took a look in my sequins collection and got my hands on some "wooden" ones. What fits perfect to little wooden scraps? right! Beavers!
Create A Smile has two challenges: one on their blog, that's right now "shaped cards" and another one on their "Facebook Friends and Family" page with "cute critters". Great combination!

The translation of the German titel "fleißiger Biber" = "hard working (or just busy) beaver" and of the sentiment "Überraschung für dich" = "surprise for you".

Über die Karte:
Die Rundung des Baumstamms hab ich grob vorgezeichnet und dann von Hand zugeschnitten - dabei darauf geachtet, dass eine raue Rinden-Optik entsteht. Die beiden Biber und den inneren Baumstumpf hab ich gestempelt und maskiert.
Da ich keinen so großen Baumstamm-Stempel besitze, hab ich die Holzmaserung frei-hand mit Buntstiften eingezeichnet. Um diesem "rauen" Stil treu zu bleiben, hab ich auch den inneren Baumstamm und die Biber mit den Stiften koloriert.
Der Schriftzug "Überraschung für dich" und die Blättchen sind mit Embossingpulver gestaltet.
Als Verzierungen bekamen die Nasen und Augen der Biber noch etwas Enamel Accents in schwarz ab und die Pailletten in Holzoptik wurden locker auf der Karte verteilt aufgeklebt.
Im Innere der Karte kam noch ein kleiner Igel angelaufen....

About this card:
I simply draft the rounded shape of the big trunk and fussycut it out - with an eye on the optic of a rough cortex. I stamped the beavers and the imaller trunk and masked them.
I havn't such a big round woodgrain stamp in my stash, so I decided to draw the lines free handed. I used wooden pencild for this job, cause they give a bit of a rough style which I also used on the smaller trunk and on the beavers.
The sentiment and also the little leaves I created with embossing powder. As embellishments I used Enamel Accents fot the beavers eyes and noses and the sequins with wood-pattern which I spread and adhered all over the trunk.
A little hedgehook walked into the inside of the card....

I finished this card more than a week ago - but couldn't find time to show it here on the blog (I was ill & one kid was sick, he'll have an ear-operation tomorrow... / parent-conference with the big one... / you may add more and more points to this list!)

Manchmal ist eine große räumliche Entfernung nur ein Klacks - ein Ozean nur wie ein Wassertropfen... (O.k. manchmal ist es auch anders rum...)

Sometimes a huge regional distance feels only like a little thing - an ocean (sea) like a drop of water... (O.k. sometimes it may also be extremely different...)

Über die Karte:

Erst hab ich den Fisch gestempelt, dann maskiert und den Hintergrund vorsichtig(!) mit Brushos gestaltet (mehrmals immer nur wenig Wasser verwendet!). Anschließend erst den Fisch coloriert. Das war eine reine Vorsichtsmaßnahme, damit der colorierte Fisch keinen "Wasserschaden" erleidet - hatte zuvor noch nicht getestet, wie Brushos und Masken zusammen funktionieren - hier ging es gut, aber ist vielleicht neben der Wassermenge auch stark Papier-abhängig?!

About this card:

First I stamped the fish, then I masked it and created the background carefully(!) with Brushos (I added several times only little quantities of water!). After this was finished I colored the fish. Was a pure precaution, to avoid water damage on the colored fish - I hadn't tried the compatibility of Brushos and masking before - this time everything went god, but I think it might depend on the water-portions and the kind of paper you use?!

O.K.... as usual glitter is something special... in many ways!
Yes, it always looks great in the end but it also makes a special kind of mess during the crafting process - (especially when you are a clumsy crafter and a little glitter-jar is spreading its content all over your table!!! - Maybe I should buy some of these cloths Jennifer was talking about.)
I was searching in my stuff for supplies to make such a glitter-window-card and found a scrap of a foil or acetate with adhesive on it (it's originally a foil to create lampshades) - and I thought: perfect!
Yes, it was fun to try this technique!
I absolutly try to ignore that EVERYTHING I touched got a tiny little bit of glitter on it... really everything.

Meistens mach ich ja quadratische oder rechteckige Karten. 
Die aktuelle Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge verlangt nach anderen Formen, und ich hab mich entschieden, mitzumachen. Entstanden ist eine Schultüte - hier heißen sie Zuckertüten, aber ich bin schließlichein eingewanderter Schwabe. ;-)
Vermutlich werdet ihr noch das eine oder andere zu dem Thema zu sehen bekommen, denn mein kleiner Nee! → großer Vincent, wird Ende August eingeschult - daher ist das derzeit ein ganz wichtiges Thema hier bei uns im Haus... :-)

Most of the time I make square or rectangle cards. 
The current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge asks for other shapes and I decidet to take part. I made a little Schultüte also known as Zuckertüte.
I think there is no english word for it, but Leo.org told me this: large cornet of cardboard filled with sweets and little presents given to children in Germany on their first day at school. That's it.
Creative Moms craft them on their own, others buy them. 
I think I'll show you some more of this stuff soon cause my son Vincent will start in the first class of school at the end of August and so it's a really important theme here in our house these days... :-)

Irgendwie war das heute wie beim Kochen - wenn alle satt sind, hat man doch oft noch einen Rest übrig... Es waren aber immerhin so viele Eier, dass es für eine weitere Karte gereicht hat.

Was like cooking a meal today - when everybody isn't hungry any more, there is still a little rest remaining... At least I had enough eggs to make a second card.
