Die Idee hinter dieser Karte ist ein wenig versteckt...
On-Line sein, immer erreichbar, über PC, Smartphone & Co immer verbunten mit der ganzen Welt... Das ist schon toll, aber da kommen Zeiten der Ruhe schnell mal zu kurz.
Diese Karte soll auffordern, mal abzuschalten & Pause von all dem Trubel zu machen. Das tut mal gut - jedem von uns, oder?

The idea behind this card is hidden...
Beeing on-line, always available, with a PC, smartphone & other stuff always connected with the whole world... That's great, but times of rest and silence are rare.
This card is a reminder to slow down a bit, to make rests from everything. That's sometimes good for everybody, isn't it?

Translation of the German sentiment "Mach mal Pause!" = Make a rest!" (Let's chill!)

Über die Karte:
Wie ihr ja vielleicht schon wisst, experimentiere ich derzeit viel mit meinen neuen Oxide Inks herum. Es ist spannend, wie sie auf unterschiedlichen Papieren zu verarbeiten sind. Für diese Karte hab ich ein spezielles DesignPapier von Stampin'Up verwendet, das mit farblosen Glossy-Streifen versehen ist, auf dem die Tinte nicht haften bleibt.
Die Kombination mit der "Say it" Stencil und dem "Pausen" Text und das Layout kamen mir ganz spontan in den Sinn. Also los!
Maske für die Mitte zurechtgeschnitten, Papier, Maske und Schablone fixiert, Oxide Inks aufgetragen und verblendet. Beim vorsichtigen Abwischen der Farbe von den Glossy-Streifen ist es dann doch passiert! Der maskierte Bereich hat was abbekommen! (Um weitere Unfälle zu vermeiden, hab ich anschließend alles mit einer dünnen Schicht MicroGlaze fixiert.)
Ich hab das Problem ganz einfach gelöst: einfach in der selben Größe wie die Maske noch eine Sprechblase ausgeschnitten, bestempelt und dann mit 3D-Take auf der ehemals maskierten Fläche aufgeklebt.

Inzwischen finde ich diese Idee sogar viel besser, als die ursprünglich, denn so hebt sie sich noch deutlicher von dem bunten und lauten "Stimmengewirr" ab!

About this card:

Maybe you know I'm currently experimenting with my new Oxide Inks very often. It's so fascinating how they react on different kind of papers. For this card I used a special irresistibly design paper from Stampin'Up which has colourless glossy stripes where ink doesn't dye into the paper.
The combination with the "Say it" stencil and the "Pause" sentiment I had in my mind immediatelly. So let's get started!
Cut out the masking paper for the center, adhered paper, mask and stencil, coloured and blended the Oxide Inks. When I carefully whiped off the colours sitting on these glossy stripes it happened! There was a bit of colour on the masked area! (To avoid more accidents I covered the whole area with a thin layer of protective MicroGlaze.)
I fixed the problem with an cut out speech bubble in the same size like the mask which I stamped and then adhered with 3D tape on the prior masked area.
Right now I prefer this idea instead of the first plan, cause the bubble has a bigger contrast to the colorful and loud "babble of voices" beneath.

Vielen denken immer, Männer seien ein schwieriges Thema... aber Jugendliche sind manchmal auch nicht ganz leicht, vor allem männliche Jugendliche...!
Es darf witzig sein, aber bloß nicht süß oder gar verspielt! Am besten irgend etwas cooles.

Many crafters think cards for men are a difficult thing... but teens aren't easy too sometimes, in special male teens...!
It could be a funny card but not a cute, sweet or kittenish one! Best way may be a cool one.


Mein Großer wurde gestern 15 und er hatte einige nicht so ganz günstige Multimedia-Wünsche. Seine eigene Idee waren Geschenkkarten für einen entsprechenden Laden, um so auch mehrere kleinere Geschneke zusammenlegen zu können (er wollte kein Bargeld - damit er es nicht doch noch für was anderes ausgiebt). Die Idee fand ich gut!
Oma nahm sich seiner Wünsche an und ich hab diese Karte für sie gemacht.

My biggest son had his 15. birthday yesterday and on his wishlist was some "not-so-cheap" multimedia-stuff. His own idea was to get giftcards for a multimedia store to add several presents together and they buy the things he wants (he didn't want to get money to avoid spending it on other stuff). Think this was a good idea!
Granny wanted to help him with this idea and I made this card for her.

Das waren also die thematischen Voraussetzungen: cool, Multimedia, mit Platz für Geschenkkarte(n) im Scheckkartenformat.
Das ist dabei herausgekommen: Karte in schlichtem Design in grau, poppiges Radio in rot, Sprechblase mit passendem Text und ein flottes Disko-Feeling mit Hologramm-Streifen und Sternen. Im Inneren der Karte befinden sich zwei PocketTags, in genau der richtigen Größe für besagte Karten.
Das Leuchten in Paul Augen bestätigte mir gestern, dass meine Mutter und ich gut zusammengearbeitet haben. 😉

That was the theme setup:cool, multimedia, with space for gift card(s) in bank card size.

That's the result: card with a simple design in grey, a popping-out radio in red, speech bubble with fitting sentiment and a spanking disco-feeling with some hologramm stars and stripes. On the inside there are two Pocket Tags in the perfect size for the giftcards.

The sparkling in Pauls eyes told me yesterday my Mom and me we did a good job together!

Es gibt einen Grund, warum ich ganz froh bin, dass bei uns das Wetter derzeit nicht ganz so sommerlich ist...! Ansonsten würde ich mit meinem Embossing-Fön und den vielen embossten Karten vermutlich ganz schön ins Schwitzen kommen! ;-)

Aber die "Online Card Classes - Heat WAVE" zeigt mal wieder einfach zu viele schöne Techniken und Tdeen - sie einfach nur zu sehen und nicht selbst aktiv zu werden, das geht einfach nicht!
 

There is one reason why I'm happy about the not very summerlike weather we currently have here...! I would melt while I work on all these embossed cards with the hot embossing-tool! ;-)

But the "Online Card Classes - Heat WAVE" shows too many great techniques and ideas - I can't resist and only watch the videos, I need to craft too!

Zuerst hab ich das Glas mit einer hellen Tinte gestempelt, dann die Glaswände mit stark verdünnten Farben coloriert und anschließend erst die Konturen nochmal gestempelt und embossed.
 
First I stamped the jar with a light ink-color, then colored the glass with heavily diluted colors and in the next step I stamped again and then embossed the contures.

K1-629 - embosste Vellum-Blüten

Draußen blühen ja nun schon jede Menge Pflänzchen. Besonders gerne mag ich in meinem Garten derzeit leuchtend gelbe Osterglocken, weiß-orangene Narzissen und kräftig gefärbte Tulpen. Krokusse sind leider dieses Jahr kaum welche gekommen... keine Ahnung, was mit denen passiert ist....
Jetzt ist also geklärt, woher die Inspiration für die farbstarke Karte kam!

Outside more and more flowers start to bloom. In my garden I have a special love for the bright-yellow Daffodils, the white and orange Narcissuses and the bright colored Tulips. There aren't many Crocuses this year, I have no idea what happened to them...
Now you know where I found my inspiration for this colorful card!

Ideen zur Karte:
Ursprünglich wollte ich sowohl die Blüten als auch die Blätter nur mit Vellum, Embossingpulver und Markern gestalten.  
Bei den Blättern gefällt mir, dass die hellgrüne Embossingpaste durchschimmert - bei den Blüten fand ich das nun nicht ganz so ideal... Daher hab ich die beiden Blüten noch auf einen weißen Cardstock geklebt.
Der optische Effekt des Vellums ist zum Glück teilweise erhalten geblieben, wenn auch die "Durchsichtigkeit" und damit auch die Leichtigkeit und Zartheit der Blüten etwas abhanden gekommen sind...

Ideas behind the card:

The idea was to make the leaves and the flowers only with vellum and embossing-powder and markers.

I love how the light-green embossing-paste is shown through the translucent leaves. - For the flowers this effect wasn't as beautiful as I thought in the first moment... So I decided to adhere them both onto a white piece of cardstock.

I'm happy, the optical effect of the vellum is still visible, although the "translucentce" and with this the lightness and the delicateness of the flowers isn't as strong as before.
