Hey! Welcome to the reminder-post for the Uniko July/August 2018 Challenge!

Our current Challenge is a great combination of a sentiment from A.A. Milne: "It's so much more friendly with two." combined with a cute photo. There are many options to be inspired - the colours, the bugs and the young plant.

If you need an extra-inspiration, you may use the optional twist "for a child" - you don't have to use it, but we are excited what you might create for the little people in your life!

About this card:

I created a sunflower with my Uniko Mehndi Mandala Stencil and placed it "outside" of a "window".

First I dry embossed the stencil with an extra silicone shim into a piece of vellum. Then I coloured the embossed areas with my Stabilo Markers from the backside, just to avoid any smearing, cause on vellum some markers aren't always as dry as you think they should be...

After fixing the vellum between two layers of frame die-cuts I created with the Stax dies, I added one final "unframed" layer on the bottom, just to avoid to see the green cardbase through the vellum. Then I glued this stack on my cardbase.

With the big sunflower and the die cut  word summer, the front of my card was busy enough, so I decided to add the sentiment on the iside of the card.

In my card the number two is involved several times - although I havn't used a bug stamp:

2 different kind of papers (cardstock and vellum),

2 Uniko products (Mehndi Mandala Stencil & Spring Botanicals - Daffodil Stamp-Set)

2 dies (stitched square and the word summer),

2 times the word-die & 2 stitching lines on the frame-die,

2 ways I used the stencil (dry embossing and colouring),

2 shades of every colour (yellow, orange, green),

2 places with crafting (outside and inside of the card),

2 linings for the sentiment on the inside (black & white)

Jippieh! Wir haben letzte Woche endlich unseren Pool fertig bekommen... die drei großen Kids (7 / 8,5 / 14) wurden langsam schon zappelig, als es nach dem kühlen Frühling jetzt endlich warum wurde!
Leider wurde letztes Jahr unsere Bade-Saison durch unser Frühchen Milo recht apprupt schon im August beendet... (er war ja dann bis Oktober noch in der Klinik). Dafür "durften" wir jetzt etwas mehr reinigen als sonst....
Aber nun ist's vollbracht! - Ab ins Wasser!!!

Whoot! Finally we finished our pool-boy-work... the three big kids (7 / 8,5 / 14) started to become twitchy, after a cool spring the warm temperatures arrived here two weeks ago!
Last year our pool-season found a quick end with the birth of our little preemie Milo in August... (he had to stay in the hospital until October). Cause of the quick end we had to clean a bit more now....
Now we're done! - Let's go swimming!!!

Über die Karte:

Ich hab mal wieder meine absolute Lieblings-Kombintion für glitzerndes Wasser gemixt: eine Art transparente Embossingpaste mit Hologramm-Flittern drin und dazu dann noch einen Tropfen türkisfarbenen Re-Inker! Das perfekte Poolwasser im Sonnenschein, so wie das das glitzert und reflektiert!
Die Hippos hab ich recht schlicht gehalten (die wirken ja allein durch ihre Größe schon!). Sie haben als Dekoration lediglich Taucherbrillen-Fenster aus Glossy Accents und einige Wassertropfen-Pailletten drumrum bekommen.

About this card:

Once more, I mixed my absolute favorite combination for sparkling water: a kind of translucent embossing paste with hologramm-glitter and then only one drop of turquoise re-inker! The result is perfect pool-water, sparkling and reflecting in the sunshine!
The hippos are simple (they are effective simply by their size!). They got only a drop of Glossy Accents for their glasses and some sequins als water-drops around them.

Ich liebe ja Eiscreme! (Wer nicht???) Und ganz besonders mag ich Jughurt-Frucht-Mix (mit roten Früchten) - z.B. Erdbeere, Himbeere oder Kirsch. Lecker! - Da nehm ich gern auch mehr als eine Portion... ;-)

I love icecream! (Who doesn't???) And my favorite sorts are yogurt-fruit-mixes (with red fruits) - strawberries, raspberries or cherries. Yummy! - I have no problem eating more than one dish... ;-)

Mir ist nicht wirklich danach. Aber meine Kids essen Eis bei jedem Wetter - auch bei arktischen Temperaturen...!

I just don't feel so. (For those who don't know: our current wether isn't really summer-like, it's wet and felt-cold for quite a while now.) But my kids love to eat ice - whatever wether it is - also when we have arctic temperatures...!

K1-223 - Pool-Land & Competition

Hier in Deutschland ist Urlaubszeit! 
Inzwischen haben in fast allen Bundesländern die Ferien begonnen und jedermann ist verreist. - O.k. fast jedermann...
Nur weil wir dieses Jahr zu hause bleiben, soll es keine Urlaubspost geben?!? NÖ! Balkonien is ja bei uns nicht mehr, Veranda zu unspektakulär und Gardenien sind Pflanzen. Polen ist zwar nicht weit weg, aber Pool-Land ist noch viel näher bei uns (siehe Foto). :-)

Vacation time all over Germany! 
By now I think in nearly every Federal Land school finished and holiday started and everybody is on a trip to somewhere else. - O.k. nearly everybody...
We stay at home and that should be a reason to disclaim post from vacation resort?!? NO! We aren't in Balcony anymore, Veranda sounds not spectacular enough and Gardenia is a plant. Poland is not really far away, but Pool-Land is closer - much more closer (take a look on the Photo). :-)
