K1-1666 - Löwen-Babykarte

Vergangenes Jahr habe ich eine Hochzeitskarte im Löwen-Design gestaltet.
Die Familie hat nun Zuwachs bekommen und ich brauchte eine Baby Karte!
Mir gefiel die Idee, sie in Anlehnung an die erste Karte zu gestalten... Auf der hatte ich vier Löwen gestempelt, doch woher nun den kleinen fünften Löwen nehmen?
Leider gab es bisher nur den Löwen-Papa bei Create A Smile auch als Mini-Stempel, also musste ich mir anders behelfen... Schrumpffolie passte da doch perfekt!
Also gestempelt, mit einer passenden Kreisstanze ausgestanzt und geschrumpft. Musste ja erst mal schauen, wie klein er dann am Ende wirklich wird. Die Größe passte gut!
Und jetzt? Ihn nur so "klein, aber dick" auf die Karte zu kleben gefiel mir nicht!

In einem Create A Smile Baby Set ist ein Storch mit Beutel...
So langsam nahm die Idee mehr und mehr Gestalt an!

Last year I made a wedding card with a lion design.
The family has grown now and I needen a baby card!
I liked the idea to create it in the same style as the wedding card... there I stamped four lions, but where should I find a little fifth lion?
The German stamp company Create A Smile made some mini stamps, but there is just the lion-dad, not a little one. I needed another plan... Shrinking foil! That was my solution!
So I stamped, cut it out in a circle and shrank it. Needed to know the new size of the stamped lion. It was just perfect!
But I wasn't happy with placing it just as "small but thick"  as it was beside the other family members.

Another set of the company includes a stork with a bag...
The idea slowly took shape!

Der Beutel des Storchs hat eine Tropfenform. Ich stempelte ich den kleinen Löwen auf die Folie, stanzte ihn aus, verpasste dem Tropfen noch ein kleines Loch und schrumpfte ihn.

Was soll ich sagen?! Er passte ziemlich perfekt!

Nun wollte ich den kleinen Knirps aber nicht so ganz uneingepackt reisen lassen, also stanzte ich einen weiteren Tropfen, nur etwas größer als die Folie (Details hierzu weiter unten).

The bag of the stork is drop shaped. I stamped the little lion again on the foil, added a small hole and shrank again.
What shall I say?! It matched perfectly!

I didn't want the little one travelling without any wrapping. So I diecut another drop, just a little bit bigger than the foil (more details below).

K1-1666 - Babykarte Yasin - Geheimnis

Die Idee für das Layout stammt aus der letzten Create A Smile Sketch Challenge. (Leider wurde ich erst zu spät fertig und konnte die Karte dort nicht mehr zeigen!)

Ich habe mit einer Geschenk-Anhänger-Stanze und "partial die-cutting" mein ausgestanztes Teil "verlängert". Dazu erst nur etwa zwei Drittel der Metallform gestanzt, dann Papier und Stanze neu positioniert (auf die Stitching-Line geachtet!) und wieder etwa zwei Drittel und das andere Ende gestanzt.

Der Hintergrund mit Steppe und Nachthimmel ist mit Oxide Inks gestaltet (ähnlich wie bei der Hochzeitskarte). Hier ist aber am Himmel nicht ein großer "König der Löwen"-Papa Mufasa zu sehen, sondern ein Mond und Sterne. 

Für den Sketch habe ich noch Garne zugefügt - Jute symbolisiert Naturverbundenheit und der feine Goldfaden steht für edel und wertvoll. Die Schleife aus dem Sketch ist bei mir etwas "verrutscht" - sie findet sich beim Storchenbeutel.
Das kleine papierene Add-On ist bei mir nicht bogenförmig, sondern mit kleinen Zacken. Ich werde dort noch den Namen des Babys eintragen - Yasin.

The idea for the card layout I took from the last Create A Smile Sketch Challenge. (sadly I fisished the card too late to participate there!)

I used a tag die, but I made partial die-cutting to "extend" the result. First I cut about two-thirds of the metal die, then I moved die and paper (took care for the stitching line!) und diecut again about two-third and the other end.

The background with veld and nightsky is made with Oxide Inks (similar to the wedding card). Here isn't the big "Lion King"-Dad Mufasa visible in the sky area, but moon and stars.
For the sketch I added some twine - jute symbolises affinity with nature and the fine golden thread stands for noble and valuable. The bow of the sketch slipped out a bit - it's placed at the bag of the stork.
The little paper add-on I cut with spikes instead of scallops. I will write the name of the Baby there - Yasin.

Die Hülle für den Storchenbeutel ist mit einer Tropfenform gestanzt. Ich habe zuvor ein Papier gefaltet und dann den Falz entlang einer der Geraden von der Spitze zur Rundung hin so gelegt, dass es gerade so nicht(!) gestanzt wird. Dadurch ist der Tropfen wie eine kleine Klappkarte auf einer Seite geschlossen. (Alternativ könnte man hier auch ein Herz schneiden und es anschließend in der Mitte falzen.)
Ich fädelte Papier-Schrumpffolie-Papier auf einen hellblauen Zwirn, der nun mit einer Schleife das kleine Päckchen zusammenhält.
Wer also die Schleife löst, lüftet das kleine verborgene Geheimnis!

The wrapping for the stork bag is diecut with a drop die. First I folded a paper and then placed the fold along the straight edge of the die so it didn't cut. It's like a little shaped folded cardbase. (Without a drop die you can cut a heart and fold it in half.)
I threaded paper-shrinking foil-paper onto a light-blue twine, bound a bow which holds the small package together now.
The one who opens the bow may take a look onto the little hidden secret!

Die Innenseite habe ich noch mit einem ganz hellen, pastellfarbenen Papier gestaltet. Der Mond von der Vorderseite ist noch mal mit aufgenommen, ein "Glückwunsch zu Eurem Knirps" und ein kleiner gestempelter Makramee-Regenbogen.

The inside I decorated with a very light pastell paper. The moon and star stamp from the front got a second place here, also a little German sentiment like "Congratulation on your little one"  and a little stamped macrame rainbow.

Ich hab schon lange keine Wobbler-Karte mehr gemacht...
Dieser kleine Hund bietet sich dafür aber perfekt an!
Für alle Tier-Liebhaber wurde aus den Wörtern awesome (großartig, fantastisch) und paw (Pfote, Tatze) ein Wortspiel kombiniert, für das es leider keine richtige Übersetzung gibt.

Hufeisen sind ja nicht nur für Pferde-Fans ein ganz deutliches Symbol für Glück.
Auf dieser Karte sind sie gut sichtbar bereits im Text integriert und dazu auch welche im Shaker versteckt!

Horse shoes are a clear symbol for luck - at least here in Germany - also in your country? Please tell me in the comments if you have known about this meaning before.
On this card they are visible in the sentiment and also hidden in the shaker! 

The translation of the German word "Glückwunsch" = felicitation or congratulation. 
I liked to use this word here, cause it has two times an U, perfect shape for horseshoes! But I haven't a "real" horseshoe die, so I made them all with the letter die, used silver paper to let them look more metallic and also to highlight them.

Vor einiger Zeit hatte ich irgendwo im Netz eine Karte mit einem Zieh-Mechanismus gesehen, der mir nicht aus dem Kopf ging...

Aufstellerkarten zu basteln macht Spaß, aber leider vergesse ich oft, diese Möglichkeit "etwas besonderes" zu gestalten zu nutzen...
Als ich kürzlich meine ersten Sets mit den süßen Stempeln von Tracey Hey / Alpaca Pals in Händen hielt, war mir sofort klar, dass ich damit eine interaktive Karte gestalten möchte!

Making Easel-Cards is fun, but I often forget to use this opportunity to craft something "special"...
Recently I got my very first sets of cute stamps from Tracey Hey / Alpaca Pals I knew immediatelly I want to create an interactive card with them!

Bis dann schließlich und endlich alles so funktionierte, wie ich es geplant hab, dauerte es eine ganze Weile... der erste Versuch, einen dünnen Strohhalm als Führung für den Nylonfaden zwischen die beiden Lagen des Häschens zu kleben, misslang, da das Nylon in das doch recht leicht brüchige Stroh einschnitt und sich verhakte.
Eine Reihe Rocaille-Perlen war dann der zweite Versuch, der besser funktionierte.
Der Schwerpunkt des Häschens liegt bei der aufgestellten Karte etwas ungünstig - er hing dann immer fast unsichtbar in der Öffnung. Daher hab ich es jetzt so gemacht, dass man ihn ein klein wenig entlang des Nylonfadens verschieben kann und das Ahornblatt so am oberen Rand der Öffnung arretiert. Zum Drehen schiebt man ihn einfach wieder ein kleines Stück tiefer, holt Luft und los geht es!

It took a while until everything worked like I had planned it before... in the first try I used a thin straw to guide the nylon thread between the two layers of paper of the rabbit. But this plan failed, cause the straw was demaged easily and then the thread got caught.
The second try was a row of little Rocaille-pearls and this went better.
When the Easel card is standing, the balance point of the rabbit is a bit difficult and the rabbit is almost unvisible from the front. Now you can move it a little bit up and down to lock or unlock it. To start the spinner, put it down and blow!

K1-1417 - Colour Slider Fox

Dieser kleine Fuchs hat ein wenig Lampenfieber und ist anfangs noch etwas sprach- und textlos!
Denn er soll meine erste selbst gemachte Colour-Slider-Karte präsentieren!
(Ich bleib hier mal beim englischen Namen, denn die Übersetzung "Farb-Schieber-Karte" klingt irgendwie sehr merkwürdig!)
Doch als dann die Lichter angingen, war er in seinem Element und hat von ganzem Herzen zum Geburtstag gratuliert! 💝

This little fox is a bit stage-fright so he is a bit speechless and without any text!
Cause he is the one who should show you my very first Colour-slider-card!
But when the lights were enlightened, he enjoyed his position and offered heartfeld birthday wishes! 💝

This card was a gift for Laney, a stage loving kindergarten teacher/nursery teacher of my son Milos daycare.
I'm writing a page with some information about all the cards I made for the whole team of the kindergarten (Kita Felsenblume) from 1999 up to now. These people are all incredible! - So I'm happy to show all of them my gratitude with these cards!

Die heutige Karte ist der Grund, warum ich über meine bisherigen Postings der letzten Jahre nachgedacht habe und nun zu diesem Entschluss gelangt bin!

Heute wurde in Milos Kita unsere Erzieherin Katja verabschiedet!
Im Namen der Kinder und Eltern hab ich für sie diese Doppelte Zieh-Karte gemacht (= Auftrag meiner Elternvertreter-Kollegen.)
Wer Katja kennt, weiß auch sofort, warum ich mich bei dem Motiv für Elfen/Feen entschieden habe... dazu in Gedanken das Kindelied "Die Jahresuhr" und das Gefühl, dass die Zeit rennt (immerhin ist Milo nun auch schon seit zwei Jahren in der Kita Felsenblume!)... und schon war die Idee eines Jahres im Leben der Elfen geboren!

This card was the reason, why I started to think about my previous postings during the years and made this decision now!

Today Katja, one of the kindergarten techers of Milos daycare, had her last day and all kids and colleagues celebrated the farewell together. In the name of all kids and parents I made this double slider card for her (by order of my parent-spokesperson colleagues).
Everybody who knows Katja understand immediatelly why I've choosen the theme of fairies... in addition to this, a children song called "die Jahresuhr" (a song about the monthes, the seasons and the annual repetition) and the feeling of running time (Milo is part of this kindergarten for two years now!)... and there was the idea of the year in a fairy life!

Doch der Platz auf einer klassischen A6-Karte war viel zu klein für die geplante Szene! Auch eine normale DIN lang Karte war nicht das Richtige...
Da blieben nur noch wenige Optionen - das größere Kartenformat in Din A5 oder eine Karte mit Elementen zum heraus-klappen oder -schieben.
Ich hab noch nie zuvor eine Doppelte Zieh-Karte gemacht - das war doch jetzt ein guter Anlass, das mal auszuprobieren!

But the area on a usual A6 card was way too small for the scene I had in my mind! Also a DIN long card wasn't enough...
Only some options left - a bigger card size like DIN A5 or a card with unfoldable or movable elements.
I've never made a double slider card before - that seems a great occasion to give it a first try now!

Beginnen wir auf der "klassischen Kartenfront" mit der aktuellen Jahreszeiten Herbst und dem bald folgenden Winter. Wenn man die beiden Flügel herauszieht, kommt rechts (in Leserichtung) erst der Frühling und dann ganz links wieder der Sommer.
Die einzelnen Zeiten haben immer ein Elfen-Zuhause, eine Elfe und einige Details aus der saisonalen Natur. Die Übergänge werden durch kleine Luftwirbel angedeutet.
Für viele von uns gehört zu Feen auch etwas Glitzern und Funkeln dazu - darum hab ich neben den eher schlichten Aquarellfarben da noch einige Akzente gesetzt.

On the "usual cardfront" I placed the real season autumn and the following winter. When you activate the sliders there appears the spring on the right side and then you have to close the seasonal ring with the summer on the left side.
In every little scene there is an fairy home, a fairy and some natural stuff from the season. The crossings I symbolised with little wind-swirls.
For most people fairies and sparkle and glitter belongs together - so I added some coloured accents to the more unsophisticated artist watercolours I used for my colorations.

Für die große Szene hab ich 6 verschiedene Stempelsets von LawnFawn verwendet, dazu noch 4 weitere Sets von Create A Smile und Craft Emotions zur Gestaltung der Innenseite.
Für alles Stempeln, Maskieren, Kolorieren und Zusammenbauen hab ich sicher mindestens 4 oder 5 Stunden gebraucht!
Das war sehr Zeit-intensiv - aber der beste Lohn dafür war die Freude in Katjas Augen und ihr Lächeln! 😍💕

I used 6 different stamp sets from Lawn Fawn for the big scene and in addition 4 more sets from Create A Smile and Craft Emotions for the decoration of the inside.
With all the stamping, masking, colouring and putting everything together the card took me in minimum about 4 or 5 hours!
Was very time consuming - but the best salary was the joy in Katjas eyes and her smile! 😍💕

Das kleine StempelSet "Hey Lady" von LawnFawn hat am Tag darauf gleich noch einen zweiten Einsatz bekommen! 
Diesmal mit einem selbst-erdachten Aktions-Mechanismus!
(Zumindest hab ich ihn zuvor noch nirgendwo gesehen... wenn ihr jemanden kennt, der das so schon verwendet hat, lasst es mich bitte wissen, damit ich es korrigieren kann!)

The little stampset "Hey Lady" from LawnFawn got a second chance  right the day after the first use!
This time with an self-conceived action-mechanism!
(At least I havn't seen it somewhere before... if you know someone else used it, please tell me, so I can  correct the information!)

Ich hab mir diesen Mechanismus für die Karte ausgedacht, da ich so einer coolen Materialvorlage (der Lupe) einfach nicht widerstehen konnte!
Mein kleiner Milo (wird im Sommer 5 Jahre alt) ist zur Zeit ganz viel auf Entdecker-Tour und findet vor allem Tiere toll. Diverse Lupen kommen hier zum Einsatz - eine große, die fast so aussieht wie die auf der Karte, eine Becherlupe oder sogar eine elektronische Lupe, die man mit dem Smartphone kombiniert (die gehört Vincent, 13,5). Wir haben hier lauter kleine Natur-Forscher!

Der Mechanismus ist eigentlich recht einfach... er besteht aus zwei durchsichtigen Folienstücken, einer Metallklammer und einer Papier-Ebene mit einem Loch.
Solltet ihr hierzu noch eine genauere Anleitung benötigen, lasst es mich über die Kommentare wissen! Dann schreib ich euch noch mehr Informationen.

I invented this mechanism for the card, cause I couldn't resist with this cool supply submission (the loupe)!
My little son Milo (he'll be 5 years in summer) is on discovering journey almost every day and he loves little animals. Several loupes are used here - a big, similar to the one on the card, a smaller cup-loupe (with a lid on top) and also an electronic one which is used in combination with a smartphone (it's Vincent's, 13,5).

We have many little nature scientists here!

The mechanism is really simple... I used two pieces of clear acetat foil, a brad and a paper-layer with an open space.
