K1-526 - Julbock #2

Ich wollte nach der ersten Karte mit dem Julbock noch eine andere Farbgebung ausprobieren und habe diesmal zu dem Stroh ein kräftiges Rot gewählt um die Bänder des Bocks zu colorieren.
Das Rot wiederholt sich in den beiden kleinen Glöckchen, die ich neben dem Bastband als Dekoration angebracht habe.
Ich habe auf meinem Board einige Linien in die Karten-Vorderseite geprägt, um sie etwas interessanter zu gestalten (noch mal Farbe auftragen wie in der ersten Karte wollte ich nicht).

I wanted to try another color-combination with the Jul Goat after I finished my first card. This time I picked an intense red to colore the details of the goat.
I repeated the red in the tiny little embellishment-bells I added together with the bast fibers.
I scored some descrete lines on my board to give the bardbase a little bit more interest (didn't want to add more color there).

K1-522 - Glitter-Forest #1

Eigentlich hatte ich nach den Christbaumkugeln genug von dem  (bescheuerten... wundernswerten?) Glitter-Papier... alles auf uns um meinen Basteltisch war voll mit diesen kleinen Glitter-Teilchen!!! (Ich weiß schon, warum ich normalerweise lieber mit Glitter-Pasten oder - klebern wie z.B. Stickles arbeite!)

Doch dann dachte ich mir: Warum nicht gleich noch eine zweite Glitzerpapier-Karten-Serie machen, dann lohnt sich das Putzen hinterher doch erst recht!? Gedacht, getan - und da ist sie schon... die Serien mit den Tannenwäldern. 

Und fast glitterfrei ist es bei mir oben inzwischen auch wieder (dass die Dinger noch einige Wochen lang überall auftauchen werden, ist mir mal wieder klar geworden...).  :-)

I was ready with this (aweful...some?) glitter-paper... these tiny little glitter-pieces were everywhere on and around my desk!!! (I know, why I prefer working with glitter-pastes or - glues like stickles usually!)

But then I had a great idea: Why shouldn't I create a second serie with glitter-paper-cards - the cleaning of my place is more effective then, right?! Thought and done - and here we go... have fun watching the pine-forest-serie.

And by the way: my upstairs-area is nearly a glitter-free-zone now (but I remember now: this little stuff will appear here and there for the next few weeks...). :-)

K1-510 - Reindeer-Holidays

Gestern hat die neue Online Card Classes - "Holiday Style" begonnen.
Beim Abendessen hat mich mein größter Sohn Paul (12,5 J.) gefragt, was denn diesmal das Thema sei. Nach meiner Antwort fing er an zu strahlen. Ja, tolles Thema, Ferien sind mir auch die liebste Zeit! ... Und das war im Grunde die Inspiration zu dieser Karte! :-) 
"Wie, du machst JETZT Urlaub???"
Ich hab ihn dann natürlich noch über die verschiedenen Bedeutungen des Wortes "holidays" aufgeklärt. 
Manchmal frag ich mich schon, warum das Schul-Englisch oft so fern der Alltags-Themen unterrichtet wird... Naja, vielleicht klingt meines ja auch deswegen manchmal etwas holprig und ungelenk ;-)

Yesterday the new Online Card Classes - "Holiday Style" began. 
While we had dinner, my biggest son Paul asked me what the topic of this class is... I answered and he started to smile. Oh yeah, that's a fine theme. I love holidays! ... And that was the inspiration for my card! :-)  
"What's that - you're on vacation (holidays) right NOW???"
Maybe our dialogue isn't easy to understand for non-Germans but I try to explain: Here, we have different words for holidays = festive days (Feiertag) and holidays = vacations (Ferien / Urlaub).
So he (sure!) loves Christmas-time, but he told me, he loves vacation-time... First I was a little bit irritated and then happy about this word-game.

School-English is sometimes far away from real life... maybe a reason why my English texts are kind of bumpy sometimes too. ;-) Sorry!
