Über die Karte:

Die verwendete Technik ist fast identisch mit der dieser Mandala-Karte.
Für die Blüten hab ich jedoch keine Brush Marker verwendet, sondern bin direkt mit meinen Mini InkPads in das zuvor embosste Bild rein. Für den tollen Schimmer-Effekt hab ich diesmal ein Perlized  Spray verwendet.
Um unschöne Farbverläufe zwischen dem Grün der Blätter und dem hellen Rosa der Blüten zu vermeiden, hab ich von vornherein entschieden, den Stempelabdruck zweimal zu stempeln, um dann die Blüten auszuschneiden und mit 3D Pads auf die Blätter aufzukleben.
(Inzwischen hab ich eine Idee, wie man diese Technik auch als OneLayerCard farbrein hinbekommen könnte... Ich hoffe, das klappt so, wie ich das möchte, und ich kann euch das dann bald zeigen!)

About this card:
I technique I used for this card is nearly the same as the one of this Mandala-Card.
But I havn't used Brush markers for this flowers, I used my Mini Ink Pads directly on the heat embossed image. This time I used a perlized spray for this gorgeous shimmer-effect.
To avoid unattractive color blending between the green of the leaves and the pale pink of the flowers I decided to stamp the image twice, colour one sheet in green and the other one in pink, then fussycut the flowers and adhere them with 3D pads on the leaves.
(I got an idea now how to create a clean coloured One Layer panel with this technique... I hope it will work as good as I imagine and I can show it to you soon!)

Letztens hab ich euch schon mein buntes Mandala gezeigt, heute gibt's noch ein weiteres, diesmal in gedeckteren Blau- und Türkistönen (typische Männerfarben!?!)
Alle Umrandungen, die der Karte, des Mandalas und auch des gestanzten Dankes, sind mit einem hellen Glitzergold-Embossingpulver gestaltet.

Recently I showed you my colorful Mandala, today I have one more with some more sober blue and turquoise colours (typical male colours!?!).
All edges, the one of the card itself, of the Mandala and also of the word die cut, are covered with a bright glitter-golden embossing powder from Ranger.

K1-972 - colorful Mandala

"Unechte" Aquarellmalerei... das klingt vielleicht seltsam, trifft aber das, was ich hier ausprobiert habe, recht gut. Wie's geht, steht weiter unten.
Inspiriert zum Ausprobieren dieser Technik hat mich die Just Us Girls Challenge #452 mit dem Thema "Fast Watercolors". (Meine damit gemachten Karten waren nur leider viel zu spät fertig...)

Faux watercoloring... maybe a strange name but it fits perfect to what I tried here. What I've done I describe below.
I was inspired to try this technique by the Just Us Girls Challenge #452 "Fast watercolors". (But the cards I made with the technique were finished way too late...)

Über die Karte:
Zuerst hab ich auf feinem Aquarellpapier das Mandala gestempelt und es in weiß heiß embossed. Anschließend die Bereiche des Mandalas ganz grob mit wasserbasierten Stiften (Pinselstifte, Marker, ...) übermalt. Das seht ihr in dem "schlimm" aussehenden Bild ganz unten, das mit "Making Off" betitelt ist.
Jetzt eine Wasserflasche mit Sprühkopf oder ein Glimmerspray nehmen und großzügig Flüssigkeit draufsprühen! (Wenn man mit weniger Flüssigkeit arbeitet, hat man zwar etwas mehr Kontrolle über das, was passiert, aber das Ergebnis wird weniger nach Aquarell aussehen.) Wenn nötig, kann man jetzt mit einem feuchten Pinsel die Farben noch ein wenig bewegen oder weiter vermischen. Hier dran denken, dass die feuchten Farben meist viel farbintensiver erscheinen als später, wenn sie getrocknet sind!
Dann braucht man etwas Geduld, bis alles getrocknet ist! (Man kann natürlich auch einen Fön zu Hilfe nehmen, aber die Effekte werden schöner, wenn alles an der Luft trocknen darf.)
Ich hab meinen Hintergrund anschließend geteilt und die Ränder flach und das Mittelstück erhaben auf meiner Karte fixiert. Der schwarze ""sunshine"-Banner ist so gestaltet, dass er sich perfekt in diese Struktur einpasst (zu sehen in den Detail Bildern). Dann noch das gestanzte "hello" zugefügt.
Zum Abschluß hab ich als "gewisses Extra" noch die kleinen tropfenförmigen Strass-Steinchen in das Mandala-Muster eingefügt.

About this card:
First I used fine watercolor paper to stamp and heat emboss the Mandala with white embossing powder. Then I scribbled the waterbased colores (brush pens, Markers, ...) with quick strokes onto the different areas of the Mandala. The result of this step is visible in the last and "messy" picture named "Making Off".
Now you have to use your water bottle and spray it on the whole paper! You may use something like glimmer mist instead of water to get a nice shimmer effect. (When you use less water you may get the option to have a bit of control about everything what's happening, but it won't look as much as watercolor than with more water.) If necessary you may move or blend the colors a bit more with a moist brush. Don't forget, the wet colors look more intense than later when they are dried!
Now you have to be a bit patient until everything is dry! (You can heat it up, but the result is better when it's air drying.)
I cut my background paper into three pieces and adhered the two edges flat and the middle with dimensional tape on the cardbase. The black "sunshine" banner is cut and scored so it fits perfectly in there (visible in the Detail picures). I also adhered the "hello" die cut above.
To get a bit of a special extra, I added some tiny little rhinestone-droplets into the pattern of the Mandala.

Bei uns hier im Berliner Umland ebbt die ganz große Hitzewelle der letzten Wochen langsam etwas ab... so, dass man auch mal wieder Lust bekommt, etwas anderes zu tun, als Eis schleckend im Schatten zu schmachten oder stundenlang im warmen Pool zu liegen... Da kommt die kleine, aber feine Sommer-Release von Uniko gerade recht! 
Wer vergangenes Jahr im Dezember bei der ersten Uniko Stamping Retreat in Stockton On Tees mit dabei war, kennt dieses kleine Set schon... Das gab es damals als Goodie für alle Teilnehmer! Jetzt ist es endlich für alle im Uniko-Shop erhältlich!

Right now the hot days came to an end here in the area around Berlin... so you may get other ideas in your mind than only sitting in a shadow-place and eating lots of ice cream or laying around in the warm water of the pool...

Über die Karte:

Nachdem ich die Blüten gestempelt hatte, hab ich sie mit einer Maske versehen und dann den Hintergrund mit Stencil, Distress Inks und Blening Brush gestaltet. Anschließend die Blätter und Blüten koloriert und mit dem StarDust-Stift von Sakura einige Akzente gesetzt. Den grünen Rahmen hab ich mit den Markern direkt auf die Karten-Basis gemalt und dann mein Rosen-Blatt mit flachem Foam-Tape aufgeklebt. Zum Abschluß gab's noch einige doppelt geklebte Pailletten (mehrschichtig wie die Rosen-Blüten).

About this card:

After I had stamped the flowers, I masked them and created the background with my stencil, Distress Inks and a Blending Brush. Then I coloured the image with my markers and added some accents with the Sakura Stardust roller ball. The green frame is directly drawn on the cardbase with the markers I used before and the rose-layer is adhered with thin foam tape. To finish the card I added some double-layered sequins (layered like rose-blossoms).

Karten für Kindergeburtstage sind ja oft recht leicht zu gestalten: bunt und fröhlich sind die Haupt-Zutaten, dazu vielleicht noch etwas mit Bewegung und der Empfänger ist glücklich!

Bei Karten für Kleinkinder wird's da schon schwieriger... Keine Kleinteile, die abfallen könnten (Gefahr von Verschlucken). Nichts, was zu leicht zerpflückt werden kann. ...

Cards for kids are easy: colorful and funny are the most important ingredients. Some kind of movement or action and the recipient is happy!

Cards for toddlers are a bit more difficult... No small pieces which could fall off (choking hazard). Nothing delicate that could be damaged to easy. ...

Daher hab ich meine Geburtstagskarte für den gerade zwei Jahre alt gewordenen Jannis "flach" gehalten, ohne weitere Verzierungen.

Der Hintergrund besteht aus buntem Splatter-"Konfetti".

Die Waldtier-Freunde sind mit Copics koloriert und dann von Hand ausgeschnitten und flächig aufgeklebt (ohne 3D pads).

Ein blaues Papier rahmt den bunt gestalteten Vordergrund gegen die weiße Kartenbasis.

So I made a flat birthday card for Jannis who turned two last week, without any embellishments.

The background is made with colorful splatter-confetti.

The forest animal friends are coloured with Copics then fussycut out and adheres flat (without dimensional pads).

A blue paper frames the colourful layer against the white cardbase.

"Stretch your supplies!" ist ja immer noch etwas, was ich liebend gerne mach! Ein wenig experimentieren, ausprobieren und sich von Material und Farben leiten lassen...

Hier hab ich eine Stencil mit schrägem Streifenmuster maskiert und sie nach jedem Farbauftrag ein Stück weiter gedreht (der Drehpunkt liegt unter dem Glitzerpapier). Die "Strahlen" überlappen sich teilweise.
Da ja Regenbögen oft entstehen, wenn Licht und Wasser zusammen kommen, hab ich die Distress  Oxide Inks im Anschluß noch mit Wasser besprenkelt und so noch den tollen Effekt mit den ausgewaschenen Farben erreicht. Was meinst du, symbolisieren die kleinen, durchsichtigen Pailletten eher Lichtreflexe oder auch Wassertröpfchen?

I masked a wonky stripes stencil and turned it a bit after every add of color (the focal angle point is beneath the glitter paper). Some of the rays are placed overlapping.
Rainbows are often visible when light and water meet, so I splattered some drops of water onto my Distress Oxide Inks and got this nice effect of wash-out colors. What do you think, are the little clear sequins a symbol for light reflexions or another one for water droplets?

Uniko - 2018/08 Release - Sneak Peeks

It is time to share the Sneak Peeks from the little August Stamp Release with you! These five stamp sets will be in the Uniko Store next Sunday!

We will have an addition to the geometric Background Builders (so far there are circles, squares, triangles and stars available).

This new set fits perfectly with the previously released Bee Happy clear stamp set and the Polka Hexagon or the Honeycomb Pattern stencil.

Todays card has a big and bold watercolor "You" on the frontside. I finished the sentiment with a stamp and a die cut.

Diese Technik ist so einfach! Man schreibt oder malt mit einem Pinsel und purem Wasser, fügt dann erst die Farbe dazu und lässt  mit Hilfe von etwas Wasser tolle Farbübergänge entstehen. So einfach ist das!

Such a qucik and easy technique! You write or paint with a brush and some pure water, then add the colors and create with some more water amazing blending-effects! That's it!

About this card:

I created a sunflower with my Uniko Mehndi Mandala Stencil and placed it "outside" of a "window".

First I dry embossed the stencil with an extra silicone shim into a piece of vellum. Then I coloured the embossed areas with my Stabilo Markers from the backside, just to avoid any smearing, cause on vellum some markers aren't always as dry as you think they should be...

After fixing the vellum between two layers of frame die-cuts I created with the Stax dies, I added one final "unframed" layer on the bottom, just to avoid to see the green cardbase through the vellum. Then I glued this stack on my cardbase.

With the big sunflower and the die cut  word summer, the front of my card was busy enough, so I decided to add the sentiment on the iside of the card.

In my card the number two is involved several times - although I havn't used a bug stamp:

2 different kind of papers (cardstock and vellum),

2 Uniko products (Mehndi Mandala Stencil & Spring Botanicals - Daffodil Stamp-Set)

2 dies (stitched square and the word summer),

2 times the word-die & 2 stitching lines on the frame-die,

2 ways I used the stencil (dry embossing and colouring),

2 shades of every colour (yellow, orange, green),

2 places with crafting (outside and inside of the card),

2 linings for the sentiment on the inside (black & white)
