Uniko - 2018/08 Release - Sneak Peeks

It is time to share the Sneak Peeks from the little August Stamp Release with you! These five stamp sets will be in the Uniko Store next Sunday!

We will have an addition to the geometric Background Builders (so far there are circles, squares, triangles and stars available).

This new set fits perfectly with the previously released Bee Happy clear stamp set and the Polka Hexagon or the Honeycomb Pattern stencil.
Great set for masculine themed projects!

Summer time is floral time! This beautiful little set includes a floral duo and matching sentiments. 

There is an addition to the BIG & BOLD series. Can you guess the word from this peek?!

The next stamp is a fun framed floral stamp which features some Flower Power and other motifs from current clear stamp sets.

You will easily find some other Uniko-supplies to combine with!

 

I'm happy, Beverley decided it is time to 'officially' release this little clear stamp set...

I got mine as a little gift for participating in the first Uniko Retreat Event in December 2017. I still have so many nice memories to this weekend! :-)

Ich hatte ja kürzlich bei der Online Card Classes "Simply Watercolor" mitgemacht. Mit einigen der dort gezeigten Techniken bin ich immer noch am experimentieren...
Heute hab ich eine Karte mit einem großen Aquarell-"You" für euch. Ergänzt wird der Kartentext noch durch Stempel und DieCut.

Recently I took part in the Online Card Classes "Simply Watercolor". I'm still dealing with some of the shown techniques...
Todays card has a big and bold watercolor "You" on the frontside. I finished the sentiment with a stamp and a die cut.

Diese Technik ist so einfach! Man schreibt oder malt mit einem Pinsel und purem Wasser, fügt dann erst die Farbe dazu und lässt  mit Hilfe von etwas Wasser tolle Farbübergänge entstehen. So einfach ist das!

 

About this card:

Such a qucik and easy technique! You write or paint with a brush and some pure water, then add the colors and create with some more water amazing blending-effects! That's it!

Hey! Welcome to the reminder-post for the Uniko July/August 2018 Challenge!

Our current Challenge is a great combination of a sentiment from A.A. Milne: "It's so much more friendly with two." combined with a cute photo. There are many options to be inspired - the colours, the bugs and the young plant.

If you need an extra-inspiration, you may use the optional twist "for a child" - you don't have to use it, but we are excited what you might create for the little people in your life!

About this card:

I created a sunflower with my Uniko Mehndi Mandala Stencil and placed it "outside" of a "window".

First I dry embossed the stencil with an extra silicone shim into a piece of vellum. Then I coloured the embossed areas with my Stabilo Markers from the backside, just to avoid any smearing, cause on vellum some markers aren't always as dry as you think they should be...

After fixing the vellum between two layers of frame die-cuts I created with the Stax dies, I added one final "unframed" layer on the bottom, just to avoid to see the green cardbase through the vellum. Then I glued this stack on my cardbase.

With the big sunflower and the die cut  word summer, the front of my card was busy enough, so I decided to add the sentiment on the iside of the card.

In my card the number two is involved several times - although I havn't used a bug stamp:

2 different kind of papers (cardstock and vellum),

2 Uniko products (Mehndi Mandala Stencil & Spring Botanicals - Daffodil Stamp-Set)

2 dies (stitched square and the word summer),

2 times the word-die & 2 stitching lines on the frame-die,

2 ways I used the stencil (dry embossing and colouring),

2 shades of every colour (yellow, orange, green),

2 places with crafting (outside and inside of the card),

2 linings for the sentiment on the inside (black & white)

Es ist Urlaubszeit!
Alle sind am Reisen... nur wir nicht! (Wir genießen unseren Garten, den Pool, all das selbst angebaute Obst und Gemüse, das gerade in Hülle und Fülle geerntet werden kann!)

Ich möchte dennoch "Urlaubs"-Kärchen verschicken - darum kreiere ich gerade einige witzige Exemplare im Stile von "Urlaub auf Balkonien" und "Grüße aus Wanneeigen" (Nein, wir wohnen nicht in Herne, Wanne-Eickel!)

But I want to sent some holiday-cards as well - so I create some funny cards from "Staycation" and "Greetings from Wanneeigen". That's a selfmade joke based on the German city Herne, with the quarter Wanne-Eickel - "Wanne" is the German word for a bathtub "eigen" means "of one's own". So the greetings are not from the town Herne, but from our house in Teltow.

Da ich hoffe, dass das Oktopussi nicht in einer leeren Wanne sitzen muss, passt die Karte doch perfekt für die Create A Smile Challenge "Water Editon", oder?
I hope, the little octopus isn't sitting in an empty bathtube, so this card is fitting perfectly for the Create A Smile - "Water edition" challenge, right?

Ich bleib noch etwas beim Tag 4 - "Landschaften und Natur" der OCC - Simply Watercolor. 
Diesmal sieht man nicht die hohen Berge, aber dafür satte grüne Wiesen und eine pummelige Kuh und viel blauer Himmel mit netten Wolken!
Erinnerungen an unsere Urlaube in Bayern (vor drei Jahren) und die Schweiz (vor zwei Jahren) werden wach! - Mann, wie die Zeit vergeht! Meine Kinder wurden damals nicht müde, bei jeder Weide, an der wir vorbeikamen "Kühe!" zu rufen... (Ich vermute, daran hätte sich nicht viel geändert... sie rufen auch hier an bestimmten Wegpunkten immer das selbe!)
Der Spruch "Carpe Diem!" = "Nutze den Tag!" passt gut, denn diese kleine Kuh hier hat viel Auslauf und jede Mange frisches Gras zu futtern. Was brauchen glückliche Kühe sonst noch?

I stay a little bit longer on Day 4 - "Landscapes & Nature" of the OCC - Simply Watercolor.
This time there aren't high mountains in my focus, but fresh green grassland and a chubby cow and lots of blue sky with some nice clouds!
Memories of our family vacations to Bavaria (three years ago) and Switzerland (two years ago) awake! - Time is flying by! My kids didn't get tired to shout out "Cows!" on every single meadow with animals on it... (I think, not much would have changed up to today... they also shout always on specific points here in our home area!)
The sentiment "Carpe diem!" = "Seize the day!" fits perfectly, cause this little cow has lots of space to jump around and so much freh grass to eat. Does a happy cow need something else?

I used the watercolours from Lukas again, additional some opaque white (cause I have no white Guache here) for the snowcovered peaks. The sentiment is written with a Faber Castell PITT artist pen (S) in black.

Gallery - Day 2

Day 2 was themed with "Simple Critters & Animals". What a fun! :-)
In my first try I created a Panda and then also the sentiment with watercolors and a fine artist marker. The basic idea for this guy I took from the second video from Kristina Werner.

Verwendete Materialien:

For this class you need watercolor paper and any kind of watercolor medium.
The sentiment is hand written, so there are no stamps involved.
To finish the card I used some green WashiTape and a Bamboo-punch.

Vergangenen Montag ging eine neue Online Card Class an den Start!
Fünf Tage lang hat Kristina Werner täglich selbst drei plus ein Video einer Gast-Designerin gezeigt - in Summe also 20 tolle Videos zum Thema Wasserfarben!
Ich habe noch längst nicht alle "Hausaufgaben" gemacht, aber das, was fertig ist, zeige ich jetzt hier!

Last Monday the new Online Card Class started!
On five days Kristina Werner showd herself three videos plus one additional one from a guest designer - in sum 20 great videos themed on watercolors!
I'm definitly behind with my "homeworks", but what I've finished I'll show you here!

My card is based on the third video of Kristina Werner but I used a different shape.

For this class you need watercolor paper and any kind of watercolor medium.

I used a Mini Hexagon Stencil from TCW to draw the pattern and then colored the hexagons with my Lukas watercolors. The script and the bee are handwritten with Faber Castell Pitt artist pens (C, F, and S)
