Eine bestandene Abschluss-Prüfung der Erzieher-Ausbildung war Anlass für diese Karte.
Dafür passten die kleinen Koala-Racker einfach perfekt!

A passed final exam of a kindergarden teacher was the reason for this card.
For this occasion the little koala rascals just fitted perfectly!

The German sentiment on the front "läuft!" is "it runs (fine)!".
On the inside I mixed a "Bam!" with  a hand lettered "You did it!".

Sternanis ist toll!
Diese Früchte waren einer der Gründe, warum ich mir das Stempelset gekauft hab! Die anderen Stempel sind auch toll, aber diese Sternanis eben besonders!
Ich habe die Karte in einem ganz natürlichen, schlichten Stil gehalten, sowohl was das Layout als auch was die Farben angeht. Auf Dekorationen hab ich verzichtet, nur die Sternanis-Samen haben einen glänzenden Überzug bekommen, so wie sie auch in echt aussehen.

I like Chinese star anise!

These fruits are one of the reasons why I bought the stamp set! The other stamps are also great, but the star anises are my favorites!
The card has a very simple and natural style - in the layout and also the colours. I passed on embellishments, but I covered the seeds with a layer of gloss, like they look in real.

Kränze sind ja eine total schöne Dekoration - nicht nur auf Karten!
Ich hab eine kleine Serie mit drei Kranz-Karten gemacht, die ich euch heute zeigen möchte.
Auf jeder Karte befindet sich ein Kranz an etwa der selben Stelle, jedoch sind sie aus verschiedenen Papieren gestaltet. 
Auch bei den Hintergründen und den Verzierungen gibt es kleine Unterschiede.
Der englische Text "I'm blessed to call you my friend" heißt übersetzt "Ich bin gesegnet, dich meinen Freund zu nennen".
Welcher der Karten gefällt euch am besten?

Gestern gab es im Süden bei meinen Eltern schon Schnee!
Laut Wetterbericht könnten am Wochenende auch hier in und um Berlin die ersten Flocken fallen... wir werden sehen, was der erste Advent uns bringt!

Passend zum aktuellen Wetter gibt es heute eine ganz kuschelig warme Karte! 
Nach dem Stempeln des Pullis hab ich mit einem metallic Gel-Stift die Ränder einer Maschen-Stencil nachgezogen und dann die Maschen einiger Reihen noch in warmen Gold- und Bronzetönen coloriert - ganz wie im Muster des Pullis.
Auf den drei dunkelgrauen mit stitching-lines gestanzten Kreisen ist die Kälte in Form von glitzernd embossten Schneeflocken zu sehen. Durch den dunkel/hell oder schwarz/weiss-Kontrast grenzen sie sich ganz deutlich von dem Pulli-Kuschel-Bereich der Karte ab.

Yesterday, my parents in South Germany had the first snow!

The weather report told us, also here in and around Berlin there might be the first few snowflakes this weekend... we'll see what the first Advent will bring us!

Fitting to the current weather I can show you a cosy and warm card today!
After I stamped the sweater I traced the edges of a knitting-stencil with a metallic gel pen and coloured some of the loops in warm shades of gold and bronze - like the pattern of the sweater.
On the three dark grey diecut circles with stitching lines I added the cold with some sparkling embossed snowflakes. The contrast of dark/bright or black/white defines a clear scope to the warm sweather-cuddling-area of the card.

Allein schon das, ein guter Grund, dankbar zu sein, oder?

This is for itself already a good reason to be thankful, right?

Es gibt noch einige mehr Gründe für mich, dankbar zu sein! 

Dankbar dafür, dass ich heute überhaupt hier leben kann, wo ich lebe (als gebürtiger Schwabe in Brandenburg, vor den Toren von Berlin).
Dankbar, dass ich vor ziemlich genau 20 Jahren nach Berlin umzog, wo ich Jahre später dann meinen Mann kennen gelernt habe (noch so ein ausgewanderter Schwabe).

But there are some more reasons for me, to be thankful!

Thankful for the option to live here today, where I do (a born Swabian in the federal country of Brandenburg, directly outside of Berlin).

Thankful for the fact I moved to Berlin just 20 years ago, where I met my husband some years later (also an emigrated Swabian who moved here).

Dankbar dafür, dass heute vor genau 4 Jahren Milo nach einem schweren Start ins Leben und fast 7 langen Wochen im Krankenhaus endlich das erste Mal mit uns nach hause fahren durfte (unsere ganz private Vereinigung)!

Er war noch winzig klein (trug gerade mal Kleidergröße 42!) - aber unendlich süß! 😍

Thankful for the very first coming home for Milo after an arduous start in his life and almost 7 long weeks in hospital exactly 4 years ago (our very private union)!

He was so tiny (has worn clothes just about size 42 cm!) - but so endless cute! 😍

Und ich gedenke heute hier auch meiner Omi Doris, die heute vor genau einem Jahr verstorben ist... - Danke für die vielen schönen Jahre mit dir! 

Ruhe weiter in Frieden, wieder vereint mit deinem geliebten Mann. 💕

Als ich anfing, diese Karte zu basteln, hab ich diese Stanzen von Birch Press in ganz vielen verschiedenen Farben ausgestanzt und anschließend zu ganz unterschiedlichen Blüten zusammengesetzt. Hier hab ich noch Nuvo Drops in 3 Farben zugefügt.

Diese frische, weiße Lotusblüte auf den unterschiedlichen Grüntönen strahlen Hoffnung und Friede aus. In Kombination mit dem Wort Danke gefällt mir das sehr gut!

When I started to make this card, I cut out these Bir Press Dies with many different colours and combined them to different looks. Here I added Nuvo Drops in three colours.

This fresh white Lotus-Flower on the different shades of green has a great charisma of hope and peace. Combined with the sentiment Danke = Thanks I like it very much!

Was very silent here on my blog for so many weeks - sorry!
But the Pandemic with all the stuff happening during the last weeks kept me away from my crafting table...

Home schooling, new organisation of our everyday life (with 6 person in the house almost 24/7 - that costs lots of nervs sometimes!), long phone calls with family and friends, start of the garden season with all the work outside (planting and seeding), all the time you need to stay half-way informed about all the things happen ouside of the "little safe world" of our house...

And yes, my creativity was gone for a while with all the bad stuff in the newspapers every day from all around the world...

Hope my creative mind is back now!
And I hope I'll find some time to craft - primary schools will be closed for minimum two more weeks here in Brandenburg and kindergarden probably until August (poor Milo, he is missing the time there so badly!)

Easter time is over, but in my garden the daffodils (the translated German name "Osterglocke" is "Easter bells") just started to bloom. So I decided to show you some cards with these beautiful spring flowers from Uniko today!

The technique I used was a first try for me.
Jennifer McGuire showed it on the first day of the current Online Card Class "Spring Card Camp".

This is an extra long class - started Saturday, April 11th and last until Thursday, April 30th, Wrap-Up day is Thursday, May 7th. 
On every one of the 20 days you get one video with intructions and tips to create two (different) cards in almost one working process.

The technique I used may be a bit tricky in the first try, but when you managed it successfully, it's easy to repeate and re-use the panel(s) you created many times!

You make your own embossing panel by layering a heat embossed image 10(!) times - layer over layer. The use of a stamping tool helps to get the best possible same-spot stamping.

This thick heat-embossed image allows you, to use it like an embossing folder.

For best results I had to experiment a little bit with my cutting machine and the layers I needed for the embossing. 

At the beginning I was a bit too careful, cause I was afraid to break this heat-embossed image with too much pressure (but everything went well - it looks still the same, ready to use it again).

For my Cuttlebug I used 1x A-plate + 2x B-plates + 1x silicone embossing-matte + the created Embossing Panel + Paper/Cardstock to emboss in + additional Cardstock-Layers. 

The additional Cardstock-layers depended to the thickness of the watercolour paper I used. 

Watercolour paper has some positive properties to use it with this technique. 

The first one is, you can moisturise it without any risk before you start to emboss - the impression of your embossing panels (or folders) will be better on dampish paper than on dry paper!
The quality of watercolour paper is often softer and thicker than most other papers - also a benefit fort the embossing.

And last but not least you can use watercolours after you have embossed it!

The first card I made with an impressed embossed flower.

I coloured the impressed lines of the flower with Zig Real brushes and added some water for a good colour gradient to the areas beside.

A still missing (small) sentiment will be placed right between the green ribbons on the right side of the flower or (when I'll use a bigger one) on the inside of the card.

I hope I can use it as a birthday card and don't need many get well cards soon. (Nobody should be in the situation to need one during the next weeks! So please stay save!)

When you use an embossing powder what doesn't "want" to layer thick enough - don't give up! Use this first try, colour it as usual and make a card out of it.

And then make a second try of the layering with another embossing powder (and maybe another brand of paper).

My first one was clear powder from Ranger - and it stayed flat. Why? I still don't know!

The second try was with a white powder from efco (one of my oldest powders in the box) on a different paper. And this turned out great!

I will use it some more times to get impressions and then I will use it as "normal" embossed image on a card - so nothing is wasted! :-)

Noten, Tanzen und ein Tutu (Ballett-Röckchen) - das ist der Gipfel der Glückseligkeit für viele junge Mädchen!
Dazu hab ich den aufmunternden Spruch "Sei einfach du selbst, alle anderen gibt es schon" gewählt, der passt perfekt, oder?

I added the encouraging German sentiment "Sei einfach du selbst, alle anderen gibt es schon" = "Just be yourself, all others already exist", that fit's perfectly, doesn't it?

On every 9th of a mont she will open a special gallery for all of us to show what we are working on. There is no Challenge, no need to use special supplies or techniques, just the option to present your crafty work! Isn't that cool?!

Heute hab ich eine schnell gemachte CAS Geburtstagskarte für euch. Sozusagen ein potentielles Last-Minute-Projekt!

Today I have a quick crafted CAS birthday card for you.
It's sort of a prospective last-minute-projuect!

Über die Karte:
Ich sagte ja, es war schnell gemacht...
* Das "Wonky Stitched Square" aus weißem Papier ausstanzen.
* Das gelbe Quadrat 4 mm größer ausschneiden.
* Aus dem weißen Quadrat die Blume ausstanzen, die bunten Teile aus kleineren Reste-Stücken ausstanzen. Den Umriß der Blüte mit dem Marker schwärzen.
* Die beiden Quadrate und die Inlayed Die-Cut Blüte zusammenpuzzlen und -kleben, auf der Kartenbasis befestigen.
* Den Glückwunsch unter den Quadraten in schwarz aufstempeln.
* Mit Pasilletten verzieren.

About this card:
I told you it was a quick one...
* Die-cut the "Wonky Stitched Square" out of white Cardstock.
* Cut out the yellow square just 4 mm bigger.
* Cut out the flower of the white square, the colorful pieces out of some paper sraps. The outline of the flower is coloured black with the Marker.
* Put and glue the two squares and the inlayed die-cut flower pieces together. Adhere it on the cardbase.
* Stamp the birthday sentiment in black ink beneath the squares.
* Embellish with some sequins.
