K1-1033 - Sparkling Chrysanthemum

Ich probier ja gerne immer wieder mal was Neues aus... Diesmal hab ich mit einer Schablone, Glimmer-Spray und Brusho Pigmentpulvern experimentiert.
Das erste Ergebnis entsprach leider noch nicht ganz meinen Erwartungen. Vermutlich war alles zu nass geworden, denn die Konturen der Blüte waren zu sehr verlaufen... "Gerettet" hat mich dann ein feiner schwarzer Marker! Mit ihm hab ich jeden einzelnen Bereich der Schablone nach gezeichnet. Das war zwar super zeitaufwändig, aber ich finde, es hat sich gelohnt! Was meint ihr?

I always love to try new techniques... This time I combined a stencil, a perlescent spray and Brusho pigment powders.
The first result wasn't what I expected. I think it was too much spray involved, cause the edges of the flower weren't clear and crisp... A fine black marker "saved" me (and the card)! I retraced every single area of the stencil. This was super time-consuming, but I think it was worth the trouble! What do you think?

K1-1019 - Schneeflöckchen, Weißröckchen

In den letzten Tagen war bei uns alles mit einer dünnen Schicht Schnee überzuckert. Es war nicht viel, aber es sieht so viel schöner aus als die trostlosen braunen Beete ohne Pflanzen.
Da kam mir das Lied "Schneeflöckchen, Weißröckchen" in den Sinn... Perfekt! dass es davon einen Text-Stempel von "Create A Smile" gibt, oder?!?
Weiße Wolken und glitzernde Flocken dazu - und fertig war die Karte!

The last few days a tiny bit of snow covered everything outside. It wasn't much snow, but enough to prettify the bleak brown beds without plants.
I got the traditional German winter song "Schneeflöckchen, Weißröckchen" in my mind. Perfect! there is a stampset from "Create A Smile" with the first line of the song!
Added some white clouds and some sparkling and shimmering flakes - and the card was finished!
 
I try to translate it... just to get you a feeling of what was my idea behind the card. But the wording is a bit old fashioned and the rhythm don't fit to the English words... so please don't wonder ;-)

"Little snowflake, little white dressed / when you will snow down /
you live in the clouds / your way is so far.

Come'n sit down at the window / you lovely star /
paint flowers and leaves / we are fond of you.

Little snowflake, you'll cover / the little flowers for us
they'll sleep safely / in heavenly peace.

K1-1029 - Bookworm Friend

Ich will einem Freund ein Buch zum Geburtstag schenken und brauchte noch ein passendes Kärtchen.
Die Idee, ein Lesezeichen als Verbindungs-Stück zwischen Karte und Buch zu gestalten, gefiel mir - und so hab ich hier den kleinen Bären als Platzhirsch Halter integriert.
Der Jeans-Druck und die stilisierte Hosentsche geben dem Ganzen einen jugendlichen Pfiff, die Farbgebung ist recht maskulin und der Herzchen-Anhänger am Lesezeichen unterstreicht nochmal, dass alles für einen "Lieblings-Bücherwurm" gestaltet wurde! ;-)
Damit das Lesezeichen nicht so leicht herausfällt, wird es ganz einfach auf die aktuelle Seiten gesteckt und der kleine Bär winkt einem von dort aus dann zur Begrüßung zu.

I wanna give a book to a friends birthday and needed a card to complete my present.
I had the idea to create a bookmark as connection between card and book so I added this little bear as replacement character.
The jeans printed paper and the stylised pocket give the card  an adolescent touch, the used colours are masculine and the little heart embellishment repeat that the whole ptoject is made for a "favorite bookworm"! :-)   
To avoid the falling of the bookmark out of the book, it is made as a "page-hugger" - it's easy to place it on top of the current page and then the bear is waving 'hello' from there.

Als ich in der Berliner Stempelbar diesen Textstempel entdeckte, wusste ich sofort, dass ich ihn haben wollte! Er passt doch perfekt zu den süßen Regen-Kids von Birdie Brown / My Favorite Things, oder?

When I saw this sentiment stamp in the Stempelbar (that's a fabulous stamp shop in Berlin) I knew immediatelly I need it! It fits perfecly to the sweet rain-kids of Birdie Brown / My Favorite Things, doesn't it?

K1-1035 - White Roses / Uniko Blog Hop - January 2019

Welcome to the January Uniko DesignTeam Blog Hop!
Springtime is still far away, but when Christmas time is over, the daylight time becomes longer every single day - and almost 3 weeks after the shortest days you can see the difference! Yay!

I miss the flowers outside (it's still too early for snowdrops and crocus), but on my cards I can give some life and love to beautiful florals!
My plants for today are the Uniko - Natures Treasures II Stencil (2018/05), combined with Pure Florals - Rose Stamps (2017/12).

I used a special technique - not sure if it has a official name yet.  It's a kind of reverse resist and wash-off combination.
I'll describe it for you below.

In combination with the roses in the front the card offers so much optical depth!
I'm not sure right now for which occasion I will use the card. So I decided to leave it without any message on the outside in the moment and when I'll send it to someone I can add any kind of sentiment on the inside just in no time.

About this card:

The technique combo I mentioned at the beginning of the post is an irreproducible one. You'll always get a bit different results.
First you cover a piece of absorbent paper with watercolors and blend them together. You can use watercolour paper or others, but the aqua-colours need to soak in!
After everything is totally dried use your antistatic powder tool and then add your Emossing Ink / Versamark Ink through your stencil onto the paper and cover it with clear embossing powder. Melt it and let it cool down. Then take the paper to the sink and wash the water colour outside of the embossed areas off! Be careful and don't rub the paper (this will demage it!).
The watercolours beneath the embossing powder will resist this wash-off activity. (that's why I called it reverse resist and wash-off combination.)

The flowers are stamped on smooth cardstock, colored with Copic Markers and Stabilo Markers and fussy cut them out. Some of the pieces got clear Wink of Stella Glimmer.
I cut my background paper, arranged everything and adhered all pieces.
To finish the card I added some glosssy Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Monats-Rückblick 2018 #8

Ich hab mich mal wieder von einer tollen Idee anstecken lassen! - Diesmal sind es "Monats-Rückblicke"!
Und da ich dann schon mal dabei war, hab ich gleich mal das ganze bisherige Jahr 2018 aufgearbeitet. Es ist manchmal schon komisch, dass man sich an manche Karten sehr gut erinnert, bei anderen aber fast völlig vergessen hat, dass man sie gemacht hat. - Auch schon nach so kurzer Zeit... Kommt euch das bekannt vor (oder leide ich an einer speziellen Art von Demenz?)?
Ich mag die Idee auf jeden Fall, hier so eine kleine Gallerie mit all meinen Karten anzulegen. Einfach, um keine zu vergessen! 

Once again I got infected with a great idea! - This time it's "monthly revies"!
First I just wanted the last month, but then I decided to wrap up the whole year 2018. It's kind of strange... some cards I can remember clear and others I nearly forgot I made them... and it's only a short time gone since then. Do you know this from your own collection of cards?
I love the idea to create a little gallery here with my artwork. Just to remember all of them!
