 As I mentioned in the other post of today, I made a second card with the Scattered Polka Dot Stencil of Uniko.

This card was a bit of a mess, but like always messy crafting means lots of fun!
I used a thicker watercolour paper and spread a clear empossing paste ober the stencil. Then I sprinkled a little bit of  colourful Brusho powder ofer it and went over the area with my palette knife again.
After the paste was dry I used a wet brush to "remove" the micro-powder whick was on the paper. The powder got this nice light pink colour which is a great contrast to the deeper red and glossy dots.

After the thick paper was dry, I cut the strip, rounded the bottom corners and added it to the cardbase. The top area is adhered flat, the middle with 1 mm dimensional pads and the bottom with 2 mm dimensional pads.

The sentiment is stamped on a pice of white paper, I cut it, rounded the corners and adhered it flat on the watercolour paper.

Heute hab ich eine Karte für euch, die ich mit einer vermutlich eher ungewöhnlichen Art der Stencil-Benutzung gemacht hab.

Was ist nun so ungewöhnlich?
Ich hab zuerst die Scattered Polka Dot Stencil ganz "normal" mit Glitzerkleber / Stickles verwendet. Als die Punkte dann trocken waren, hab ich die Stencil erneut (passgenau!) aufgelegt und dann ein wenig nach oben und rechts verschoben.
Dann hab ich jeweils in die Mitte der Öffnungen einen Nuvo Crystal Drop platziert. Diese Punkte hab ich so belassen, wie sie waren, also nicht verstrichen und daher nicht die kompletten Öffnungen der Schablone bedeckt. 
Die Schablone hat mir hier also nur Hilfe bei der Orientierung gegeben, um die Tropfen in gleichmäßigem Abestand zu den Glitzerpunkten aufzutragen. 

What is so uncommon here?
First I used the scattered polka dot stencil as "usual" in combination with glitterglue / stickles. When dhe dots were dried, I placed the stencil back on the (exact!) same place and then moved it a bit up and to the right.
In the center of each open area I placed a Nuvo Crystal Drop. I let these drops as they were, I didn't spread them out and so I didn't filled the whole open area.
The stencil was just a guide to place the drops in the same distance to the glitter-points.

Welcome to our Non-Release-Month DesignTeam Blog Hop and Giveaway!

On the Uniko Blog Beverley wrote a short "what you need to know" about this little traditional event for everybody who isn't familiar with it.

My first card has the focus on parts of the stencil and a stamped butterfly of the English Country Garden Set, combined with the sentiment "Always believe something wonderful is about to happen" of the Daffodil set.

About this card:
I combined  the Kraft paper with white pigment ink, added through a stencil which I moved around on my work-surface to get many of th flowery dots and only one centered butterfly.

Then I added some stamps - a white dotty border and also the black elements. The butterfly I stamped onto the stenciled one. Why? To get the opportunity to colour on the white surface and not on the Kraft paper with my bright markers.
After the coloures were dried I added some clear glimmer and one coat of glossy accents to the wings. This iridescent touch is a more natural look of a butterfly than only Glossy Accents.
To be more CAS I avoid more embellishments and let the butterfly be the one big and colourful focal point.

Über die Karte:
Für den Hintergrund hab ich eine durchsichtige und irisierende Embossingpaste mit einem Tröpfchen roter Tinte gemischt und mit meiner Scattered Polka Dots-Stencil von Uniko benutzt.
Bei den Rosen hab ich nur die Umrisse gestempelt und mit Copics nur einige Schatten im inneren Blütenbereich platziert, um die Blüte etwas plastischer wirken zu lassen. Anschließend die kompletten Blüten mit Wink of Stella beglimmert. Die Blätter sind mit Stabilo Markern koloriert.

About this card:
For the background I mixed a tranlucent and iridescent embossing paste with a drop of red reinker and used it with my Scattered Polka Dots-Stencil from Uniko.
I stamped only the outlines of the roses and used a minimum of Copic colourinf to get some light shadows in the inner area of the blooms for a dimensional look. Then I covered the whole flowers with Wink of Stella. The leaves are coloured with Stabilo Markers.

Ich bin immer mal wieder dabei, meine Kiste mit den angefangenen, halbfertigen und unvollendeten Kartenbruchstücken zu nehmen und daraus die eine oder andere fertige Karte zu zaubern.
Jetzt ist dabei diese maskierte One Layer Tiefsee-Karte mit dem süßen Tintenfisch in einem Meer von Punkten im Ombre-Effekt entstanden.

Once in a while I take my box with the inchoate, half-done and incomplete card-fragments and try to do some magic to finish one or two cards.
Now this masked one layer deep-sea card with the cute sepia / octopus in an ocean of dots with ombre-effect developed.
The translation of the German sentiment "bleib wie du bist" is "stay the way you are" or "never change".

Wenn man nur eine Hälfte eines Schmetterlingsstempels verwendet, erhält man das Flatterwesen in Seitenansicht. Das ist wohl mit die einfachste Version von "Stretch your Stamps"!
Ideas behind the card:

When you only use the half of a butterfly-stamp you get the fluttering critter in a side-view. Think this is one of the easiest ways to "Stretch your Staps"!

Da ich dem Ruf meiner an den ersten beiden Tagen der
Online Card Class "Background Check" hergetellten Hintergründe nachgegeben hatte, sie gleich zu verarbeiten, stand ich an Tag 3 fast ohne Arbeitsmaterial da! Oh-ooh!
War aber nicht weiter schlimm, denn mit vielen der gezeigten Techniken kann man ja in relativ kurzer Zeit gleich wieder neue Papiere gestalten!
Und auch heute hab ich gleich einige dieser neuen Papiere zu Karten weiterverarbeitet.
(Es sollte auch gar nicht erst die Idee aufkommen, sie in die Halbfertig-Kiste wandern zu lassen - die ist auch so schon voll genug!) ;-)

Cause I responded to the call of the backgrond papers I created during the first two days of the Online Card Class "Background Check" to use them, I was nearly blank of papers at Day 3! Oh-ooh!
But that wasn't that worse, cause most of the shown techniques allow creating several new papers in a really short time!
So did I and used some of them immediatelly to create new cards.

K1-459 - Origami Fishes & Wishes

Gestern hat die neue Online Card Class "Background Check" angefangen (sie endet am Freitag 08-07). Wie ihr ja wisst, kann man immer noch einsteigen - jetzt (um aktiv in den Gallerien und Foren teilzunehmen) oder auch später (dann jedoch nur noch zum Lernen, Lesen und Anschauen).

Yesterday the new Online Card Class "Background Check" started (it will last until Friday, 08-07). There is still time to check in - now (for active participation in the galleries and forums) or later (just to learn, read and watch).


Ich denke in den kommenden Tagen werden ich mehr Bilder von den Entstehungs-Prozessen zeigen, denn schließlich stehen jetzt die Hintergründe im Vordergrund, oder?

I think the next days I'll post some more pictures of the crafting-processes, cause the Backgrounds are standing in the foreground, right?

To finish the card I cut the wave-paper and added some colorful Origami-Fishes, some glossy bubbles and the handwritten sentiment.

The use of the Baby wipes has brought only a little effect on the watercolor paper, so I sprayed water onto the paper and patted the (now colored) water immediatelly away with a paper towel.
